Anti-programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) antibody monotherapy (PD1) has led to favorable responses in advanced non-acral cutaneous melanoma among Caucasian populations; however, recent studies suggest that this therapy limited efficacy mucosal (MCM). Thus, MCM patients are candidates for PD1 plus anti-cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated antigen-4 (CTLA-4) combination (PD1 + CTLA4). Data on the of immunotherapy MCM, limited. We aimed compare efficacies and CTLA4 Japanese patients.We...

C. elegans uses chemosensation to recognize a variety of odors, many which are released by bacteria, the major food source . Specific amphid sensory neurons known detect different odorants. Here we show that AWC OFF neuron detects attractive odorant 1-butanol. Because few odorants specifically recognized have been identified, hope identification this additional will facilitate studies role in odor detection and discrimination.

Dupilumab attenuates itch and skin inflammation in patients with atopic dermatitis (AD). However, itch-related events that are improved by dupilumab remain unclear. Therefore, the present study investigated changes clinical scores, serum biomarkers, number of intraepidermal nerve fibers (IENFs) using biopsies blood samples from 12 moderate to severe AD before after treatment dupilumab. Clinical manifestations were assessed eczema area severity index (EASI) visual analogue scale (VAS) scores...

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) using topical delta-aminolevulinic acid (ALA) has been used for nonmelanoma skin cancers, including malignant cutaneous T-cell lymphomas. Moreover, PDT tried benign inflammatory or infectious lesions. To evaluate the effects of ALA-PDT on lesions lymphadenosis benigna cutis (LABC).Two 16-year-old females with solitary and infiltrated nodules were treated 5 times ALA-PDT.Both patients responded well showed dramatic clinical histopathological improvement without...

Anti-programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) monotherapy is one of the standard systemic therapies for advanced melanoma; however, efficacy salvage after PD-1 failure (PD-1 MF), particularly in acral melanoma (AM), main clinical type Japanese patients, unclear. This study aimed to investigate patients with AM MF.The included 108 (palm and sole, 72; nail apparatus, 36) who underwent therapy at 24 institutions. We mainly assessed objective response rate (ORR), progression-free survival (PFS),...

Hand-foot skin reaction (HFSR) is the most common adverse event of multikinase inhibitors (MKI), such as sorafenib. Although HFSR not life-threatening, severe cases impair quality life because pain and reduced activities daily living. However, pathological mechanisms have yet been elucidated in detail, there currently no effective treatment. We aimed to identify keratinocyte cytoprotectants against sorafenib toxicity. The screening toxicity was performed using cultured normal human epidermal...

Abstract Lichen planus ( LP ) is a chronic inflammatory disorder involving the skin or mucous membranes. Previous studies have demonstrated that some patients showed positive enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assay ELISA for desmoglein DSG antibodies. We report case with intractable painful oral lesions. indices 1 and 3 antibodies were increased by 49 36, respectively. Histopathological analysis revealed irregular acanthosis band‐like infiltration of lymphocytes at dermal–epidermal interface....

ABSTRACT The most life‐threatening complication developing in patients with recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (RDEB) is squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). To improve patient prognosis, early detection of regional lymph node metastasis required. Herein, we report a diagnosed non‐Hallopeau–Siemens RDEB who developed SCC on the left foot inguinal swelling. Use sentinel biopsy (SNB) technique favorably minimized defective damage to region this case. Genetic analysis identified one novel...

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) with topical application of 5-aminolaevulinic acid (ALA) is a promising new treatment option for the management various cutaneous malignancies. Generally, ALA-based PDT has relatively insignificant adverse effects transient character; these include itching, stinging or burning pain and slight to moderate erythema. We describe first case photocontact urticaria induced by unilesional mycosis fungoides. Although session resulted merely in mild erythema, second caused...

Recently, we discovered that β-thujaplicin (BT) induces metallothionein (MT) expression in mouse keratinocytes, both vivo and vitro. However, the molecular mechanisms by which BT exerts its biological effects have not been elucidated. The purpose of this study is to explore signal transduction pathway involved MT mRNA induction BT. Using a HaCaT keratinocyte cell line, Northern blotting was performed for analyzing human MT-IIA levels combination with number protein kinase (PK) inhibitors...

Anti-laminin γ1 pemphigoid is a novel autoimmune subepidermal bullous disease characterized by the presence of circulating immunoglobulin (Ig) G autoantibodies to laminin γ1, common constituent at various basement membrane zones (BMZs). Although an association between blistering diseases and inflammatory bowel (IBD) has been reported, there have no previous reports on anti-laminin IBD. Here, we demonstrate case [...]
