Background: Brain metastases (BM) are a major clinical challenge in metastatic lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), affecting up to 50% of patients during disease progression. Current guidelines do not mandate brain imaging for all cancer at diagnosis unless there neurological symptoms present. However, real-world data on the predictive value BM detection remain scarce. Methods: This retrospective multicenter study analyzed consecutive diagnosed with stage IV LUAD molecular assessment western Sweden...
Background The prevalence of ischemic heart disease (IHD) in women child‐bearing age is rising. Data on pregnancies however are scarce. objective to describe the pregnancy outcomes these women. Methods and Results European Society Cardiology‐EURObservational Research Programme ROPAC (Registry Pregnancy Cardiac Disease) a prospective registry which data with were collected from 138 centers 53 countries. Pregnant preexistent pregnancy‐onset IHD included. Primary end point maternal cardiac...
Complex congenital heart disease is often accompanied by extracardiac manifestations; , the significance of genitourinary involvement remains unclear. We present 3 patients with palliated complex and pregnancies complicated premature delivery who were found to have uterine anomalies that may contributed their obstetrical complications.
Background Delivery of care to the adult congenital heart disease (ACHD) population has been limited by a shortage in ACHD physician resources. There is data regarding adequacy resources United States and our estimates are extrapolated from Canadian data. Therefore, we proposed evaluate physician: patient ratios at both national regional levels. Methods Data Adult Congenital Heart Association (ACHA) website along with metropolitan area statewide 2016 US Census Bureau were analyzed....
To characterise plaque phenotypes in the left main stem (LMS) and proximal anterior descending (LAD) coronary artery using virtual histology assisted intravascular ultrasound (VH-IVUS).Patients with IVUS pullbacks including no less than 30 mm of LAD through ostium were identified from a global registry. Plaque composition phenotype frequency LMS five consecutive non-overlapping 6 segments studied, resulting six analysed per patient. There 74 patients (72% male, mean age 65 years). The median...
Abstract In this study, we describe the case of a 36-year-old woman who was diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma on background Fontan procedure for tricuspid atresia. She had worsening heart failure in months before presentation, and early investigations noted derangement liver enzymes hepatomegaly. Liver biopsy confirmed carcinoma. Hepatocellular is rare but recognised consequence cardiac cirrhosis patients.
Adult congenital heart disease (ACHD) patients have significant morbidity and rise in cardiac admissions. Their outcome with high-dose influenza vaccination is unknown comparison to those without ACHD. The purpose of this study was compare all-cause mortality or cardiopulmonary hospitalizations self-identified ACHD versus non-ACHD receiving high- low-dose within the INfluenza Vaccine Effectively Stop cardioThoracic Events Decompensated failure trial. We prospectively included INVESTED...
