Background The current Japanese encephalitis (JE) vaccine derived from G3 JE virus (JEV) can induce protective immunity against G1–G4 JEV genotypes. However, efficacy the emerging G5 genotype has not been reported. Methods/Principal Findings Using in vitro and vivo tests, biological phenotype cross-immunoreactions were compared between (wild strains). PRNT90 method was used to detect neutralizing antibodies different genotypes of vaccine-immunized subjects patients. In mice, lethal challenge...

Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) is a representative of the JEV serogroup in genus Flavivirus, family Flaviviridae. mosquito-borne that causes (JE), one most severe viral diseases world. divided into five genotypes (G1–G5), and each genotype has its own distribution pattern. However, different changed markedly recent years. G1 replaced G3 as dominant traditional epidemic areas Asia, while spread from Asia to Europe Africa caused domestic JE cases Africa. G2 G5, which were endemic Malaysia,...

OBJECTIVE:With the fast development of artificial intelligence techniques, we proposed a novel two-stage multi-view learning framework for contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) based computer-aided diagnosis liver tumors, which adopted only three typical CEUS images selected from arterial phase, portal venous phase and late phase. MATERIALS AND METHODS:In first stage, deep canonical correlation analysis (DCCA) was performed on image pairs between phases, delayed phases respectively, then...

Campylobacter is associated with environmental enteric dysfunction (EED) and malnutrition in children. infection could be a linchpin between livestock fecal exposure health outcomes low-resource smallholder settings. We followed birth cohort of 106 infants rural households eastern Ethiopia up to 13 months age. measured anthropometry, surveyed sociodemographic determinants, collected stool urine samples. A short survey was conducted during monthly visits, infant samples were collected, spp....

Abstract Integrin β4 (ITGB4) is a transmembrane receptor involved in tumorigenesis and the invasiveness of many cancers. However, its role hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), one most prevalent human cancers worldwide, remains unclear. Here, we examined involvement ITGB4 HCC explored underlying mechanisms. Real-time PCR immunohistochemical analyses tissues from 82 patients with four cell lines showed higher levels tumor than adjacent non-tumor normal hepatic cells. Silencing repressed...

Japanese encephalitis (JE) is very prevalent in China, but the incidence of JE among children has been greatly reduced by extensive promotion vaccinations. The adults, however, increased some parts China.Data on mainland terms incidence, gender, and age, were collected between 2004 2014. We conducted spatial temporal analyses data from different age groups. Generally, aged 0-15 years still represent major population cases despite gradual decrease over years. However, adults several provinces...

Abstract Background In the aftermath of COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a surge in human metapneumovirus (HMPV) transmission, surpassing pre-epidemic levels. We aim to elucidate clinical and epidemiological characteristics HMPV infections post-COVID-19 pandemic era. Methods this retrospective single-center study, participants diagnosed with laboratory confirmed infection through Targeted Next Generation Sequencing were included. The study encompassed individuals admitted Henan Children's...

We detected neutralizing antibodies of Getah virus (GETV) in serum specimens domestic animals collected from Yunnan Province China. Antibodies were chicken, duck, dairy cattle, pig, and beef cattle. The positive rate pig cattle was high (46-72%), with titers 1:640-1:2560. These results suggest that there may be a large number host for GETV the local area. It is important to improve monitoring incidence infection animals, particular among pigs by surveillance animal illness testing sick animals.
