Abstract Changes in the oral microbiome, particularly Fusobacterium nucleatum , are associated with squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). F. has been reported to modulate local immunity cancers. We aimed assess association between intratumoral and clinico-pathological features, relapse, overall survival (OS) two independent cohorts of patients OSCC, explore interplay immune-related genes. retrospectively analyzed tissue samples from a first cohort 122 head neck carcinoma, including 61 OSCC (cohort...

Objective: In patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), cetuximab [a monoclonal antibody targeting epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)] has been shown to improve overall survival when combined radiotherapy in the locally advanced setting or chemotherapy first-line recurrent and/or metastatic (R/M) setting, respectively. While biomarkers of resistance have identified colorectal cancer, no efficacy HNSCC. Here, we aimed identify sensitivity/resistance Methods: HNSCC...

Oral cavity is the most prevalent site of head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCCs). Most often diagnosed at a locally advanced stage, treatment multimodal with surgery as cornerstone. The aim this study was to explore molecular landscape homogenous cohort oral (OCSCCs), assess prognostic value tumor mutational burden (TMB), along classical clinical parameters. One hundred fifty-one consecutive patients OCSCC treated upfront Institut Curie were analyzed. Sequencing DNA from frozen...

Objective: Surgery for head and neck cancer often requires free flap reconstructions, whose harvesting site a thin-skin graft. Wounds from the donor are comparable to an intermediate or deep second-degree burn. This is uncomfortable can lead complications such as long healing time, local infections pain. Since they reproducible, these wounds may serve model objective assessment of new medical devices. The acellular fish skin matrix device designed improve quality time. Methods: We compared...

Background Around 25% of oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma (OCSCC) are not controlled by the standard care, but there is currently no validated biomarker to identify those patients. Our objective was determine a robust for severe OCSCC, using biology-driven strategy.Patients and methods Tumor juxtatumor secretome were analyzed in prospective discovery cohort 37 OCSCC treated primary surgery. Independent validation performed RTqPCR retrospective 145 patients with similar clinical features....

Abstract Introduction: Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is characterized by substantial intratumor heterogeneity (ITH) at the molecular level that may foster tumor evolution, adaptation, therapeutic failure. Personalized-medicine strategies mostly rely on single tumor-biopsy samples which might not capture mutational burden of heterogeneous tumors. We investigated genetic ITH portrayed from multiregion spatial sequencing in early-stage HNSCC patients. Patients Method:...

Objectives To describe a large cohort of eyelid and periorbital SCCs, to compare the location tumor pathological lymph nodes, analyze risk factors for node involvement among characteristics. Methods All patients managed inside our institution an SCCs were included. Tumor characteristics, imaging setup, excision margins, evolution features, local, regional, distant recurrences rates, global survival reported. The nodes analyzed through univariate multivariate analyses. Results Between January...

We report the case of a 68-year-old woman who underwent 18F-FDG PET/CT for squamous cell carcinoma antigen (SCC Ag) elevation in follow-up uterine cervical cancer. The examination showed an FDG-avid mass left nasal cavity with maxillary sinusitis and no other site abnormal FDG uptake. Surgical resection polyp was performed, pathological specimen revealed inverted sinonasal papilloma. SCC Ag returned to normal after surgery. Inverted papilloma is rare cause elevation, which can be depicted by PET/CT.
