Significance Adzuki bean ( Vigna angularis ) is distinct in its high starch and low fat accumulation. However, the underlying genetic basis still not well understood. In this study, we generated a high-quality draft genome sequence of adzuki by using whole-genome shotgun sequencing strategy. By comparative genomic transcriptome analyses, demonstrated that significant difference content between soybean were caused transcriptional abundance rather than copy number variations genes related to...

Abstract Seed coat color is an important quality and domestication trait. The adzuki bean has more than a dozen seed colors closely associated with the anthocyanin flavonoid metabolism pathways. In this study, we explored pigment composition of 10 different beans including red, black mottle on gray, golden, green, black, ivory, brown, light brown. results showed that anthocyanins are main in coat. There were no carotenoid or pelargonidin derivatives coats any accessions. Different have...

Abstract For many years, commercial‐grade hexane has been the preferred solvent for extracting oil from cottonseed. Recent environmental and health concerns about may limit use of this solvent; therefore, need a replacement become an important issue. Heptane is similar to hexane, but does not have associated with latter. On laboratory scale, delinted, dehulled, ground cottonseed was extracted heptane. The solvent‐to‐meal ratio 10:1 (vol/wt). yield quality meal by heptane were that hexane....

Abstract Commercial processing of cottonseed requires hexane to extract and recover edible oil. Gossypol aflatoxin are not removed from extracted meals. A bench‐top extraction process with 95% (vol/vol) aqueous ethanol (EtOH) solvent has been developed that extracts all three the above materials a much less volatile solvent. In this process, is pretreated ambient EtOH remove gossypol then hot oil aflatoxin. Membranes adsorption columns used purify various streams, so they can be recycled...

The adzuki bean (Vigna angularis) is an important grain legume. Fine mapping of quantitative trait loci (QTL) and qualitative genes plays role in gene cloning, molecular-marker-assisted selection (MAS), improvement. However, the genetic control agronomic traits remains poorly understood. Single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) are invaluable construction high-density maps. We mapped 26 QTLs five related to pigmentation using 1,571 polymorphic SNP markers from genome via...
