On February 22, 2013, the FDA licensed ado-trastuzumab emtansine (Kadcyla; Genentech, Inc.) for use as a single agent treatment of patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive metastatic breast cancer (MBC) who previously received trastuzumab and taxane, separately or in combination. The clinical basis licensure was phase III trial 991 HER2-positive MBC that randomly allocated to receive (n=495) lapatinib combination capecitabine (n=496). coprimary endpoints were...

Older adults with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) who are not fit for standard chemotherapy historically have poor outcomes. Approximately 12-15% of older patients AML harbor isocitrate dehydrogenase 2 (IDH2) gene mutations. Enasidenib is an oral inhibitor mutant IDH2 proteins. Among 39 newly diagnosed mutant-IDH2 received enasidenib monotherapy in this phase I/II trial, median age was 77 years (range 58-87) and 23 (59%) had antecedent hematologic disorder. The number treatment cycles 6.0...

Rhino-orbito-cerebral mucormycosis(ROCM) is an invasive fungal infection that usually occurs in immunocompromised patients and sometimes presents as orbital apex syndrome(OAS) initially. It rapidly fatal without early diagnosis treatment. We report the cases of ROCM presenting with OAS initially order to raise attention clinicians. retrospectively investigated eleven admitted between January 2006 December 2013. analyzed clinical features, results laboratory radiological examinations, nasal...

Abstract Excessive activation of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) is a key step in liver fibrogenesis. Here we report that CUG-binding protein 1 (CUGBP1) expression elevated HSCs and positively correlates with fibrosis severity human biopsies. Transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) selectively increases CUGBP1 cultured p38 mitogen-activated kinase (MAPK)-dependent manner. Knockdown inhibits alpha smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) promotes interferon gamma (IFN-γ) production vitro . We further show...

Abstract Body weight is a component of the mechanical theory OA (osteoarthritis) pathogenesis. Obesity was also found to be risk factor for digital involving non-weight-bearing joints, which suggested that metabolism influences occurrence and progression OA. The metabolic origin has been partially attributed involvement adipokines, such as leptin, levels are significantly positively correlated with cartilage degeneration in patients. However, mechanisms by leptin-induced occurs poorly...

Abstract Background Tumor mutation burden (TMB), DNA mismatch repair deficiency (dMMR), microsatellite instability (MSI), and PD‐L1 amplification (PD‐L1 AMP) may predict the efficacy of PD‐1/PD‐L1 blockade. With broadening landscape immunotherapy use, it is important to identify patients who are likely benefit from therapy. This study aimed characterize distributions these biomarkers explore relationships among for Chinese with cancer. Methods In this study, we examined aforementioned in...
