Background: More than one-fifth of the world’s population consumes Chinese cuisines regularly, but no evidence-based healthy diets fitting food culture are available for implementation. Methods: A multicenter, patient- and outcome assessor–blind, randomized feeding trial was conducted among 265 participants with 130 to 159 mm Hg baseline systolic blood pressure (SBP) 4 major (Shangdong, Huaiyang, Cantonese, Szechuan). After a 7-day run-in period on control diet matching usual local diets,...

Background and Aims: Extrachromosomal circular DNAs (eccDNAs) are prevalent in cancer genomes emerge as a class of crucial yet less characterized oncogenic drivers. However, the structure, composition, genome-wide frequency, contribution eccDNAs HCC, one most fatal cancers, remain unexplored. In this study, we provide comprehensive characterization human HCC demonstrate an role microRNA (miRNA)-17-92-containing tumor progression. Approach Results: Using circle-sequencing method, identify...

Ischemic stroke, accounting for 85% of stroke cases, leads to severe disabilities and increased mortality. Its global incidence rose by 87.55% from 1990 2019, posing significant health economic burdens. The BRICS-plus nations-Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, five others-represent a large population, presenting unique public challenges. This study aims evaluate the epidemiological trends variations in burden ischemic across nations timely manner. Data on number, all-age rate,...

Background and Aims Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress is an adaptive response to excessive ER demand contributes the development of numerous diseases, including nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), which hallmarked by accumulation lipid within hepatocytes. However, underlying mechanisms remain elusive. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play indispensable role in various responses, but their implications have not yet been systemically investigated. In this study, we identify a negative feedback loop...

The rapid emergence of SARS-CoV-2 variants concern, the complexity infection, and functional redundancy host factors, underscore an urgent need for broad-spectrum antivirals against continuous COVID-19 pandemic, with drug repurposing as a viable therapeutic strategy. Here we report potential RNA G-quadruplex (RG4)-targeting strategy entry. Combining bioinformatics, biochemical biophysical approaches, characterize existence RG4s in several factors. In silico screening followed by experimental...

Generation 5-poly(amidoamine) dendrimers pre-modified with folic acid and methotrexate (G5-FA-MTX) were used as templates for the synthesis of dendrimer-entrapped gold nanoparticles (Au DENPs). The synthesized [(Au0)50-G5-FA-MTX] DENPs able to target specifically inhibit growth cancer cells overexpressing high affinity receptors.

A multifunctional folic acid-targeted dendrimer-based nanoplatform was designed to have both Mn(ii) and 99mTc loaded via chelation. The formed displays good stability, cytocompatibility hemocompatibility in a given concentration range, can be used for targeted dual-mode single-photon emission computed tomography/magnetic resonance imaging of tumors.

To find specific magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features to differentiate metastatic ovarian tumors from primary epithelial cancers. Eleven cases with and 26 malignant cancers were retrospectively studied. All such as patient characteristics, MRI findings biomarkers evaluated. The differences including laterality, configuration, uniformity of locules, diffusion weighted (DWI) signal solid components enhancement portions between compared by Fisher's exact test.
