Saccharina japonica has been cultivated in China for almost a century. From Dalian to Fujian, the lowest and highest seawater temperatures period of cultivation increased by 14℃ 8℃, respectively. Its adaptation elevated temperature is an example securing natural habitats species. To decipher mechanisms underlining S. relative high temperature, we assembled ~ 516.3 Mb female gametophyte genome 540.3 male, The gametophytes isolated from southern kelp cultivars acclimated transforming amino...
Cathepsin family proteases play an important role in the carcinogenesis of genitourinary carcinomas. However, causality between serum cathepsin levels and carcinomas remains uninvestigated. In this study, we conducted a two-sample Mendelian Randomization (MR) analysis exploring causal association different types cathepsins Univariate, bidirectional multivariate MR analyses were based on genome-wide studies. Moreover, linkage disequilibrium score regression (LDSC) analysis, colocalization...
Both hypertension and type 2 diabetes are attributable to premature death, cardiovascular kidney diseases with largely overlapping population. Followed the GRADE approach, this expert consensus aimed reduce death disability due minimize treatment burden in adults diabetes. Through online survey discussion, a multidisciplinary team comprehensively prioritized seven key guideline questions. Informed by evidence synthesis developed 12 recommendations under Evidence-to-decision (EtD) framework....
Objectives To evaluate the performance and cost-effectiveness of existing diabetes risk scores (DRSs) to screen for undiagnosed mellitus (UDM) prediabetes (PD) in a community-based southwestern Chinese population. Methods Participants TIDE-Chengdu survey with requisite data without known were included. Five Chinese-derived DRSs six non-Chinese-derived included evaluation. Their detecting UDM UMD or PD (UDM/PD) was assessed using C-statistic. The optimal DRS compared that capillary fasting...
Aim Our study aims to identify novel non-coding RNA-mRNA regulatory networks associated with β-cell dysfunction and compensatory responses in obesity-related diabetes. Methods Glucose metabolism, islet architecture secretion, insulin sensitivity were characterized C57BL/6J mice fed on a 60% high-fat diet (HFD) or control for 24 weeks. Islets isolated whole transcriptome sequencing differentially expressed (DE) mRNAs, miRNAs, IncRNAs, circRNAs. Regulatory involving miRNA–mRNA, lncRNA–mRNA,...

Hypokalemia is a common disorder in clinical settings; however, nonmolecular diagnostic testing cannot explain some causes of hypokalemia. To determine the etiology clinically unexplained hypokalemia without hypertension (CUHypoNH) and to obtain yield monogenic adults (MHNHA), we enrolled 82 patients with CUHypoNH for whole-exome sequencing or targeted gene genes associated 4000 disorders. Through molecular diagnosis, 25 were diagnosed hypokalemia, 30.5% was obtained. Among MHNHA, 18 (18/82,...
