In recent years, natural orifice specimen extraction surgery (NOSES) in the treatment of colorectal cancer has attracted widespread attention. The potential benefits NOSES including reduction postoperative pain and wound complications, less use analgesic, faster recovery bowel function, shorter length hospital stay, better cosmetic psychological effect have been described surgery. Despite significant decrease surgical trauma observed, pitfalls this technique demonstrated. Particularly,...
The incidence of hypertriglyceridemic acute pancreatitis (HTG-AP) has increased yearly, but updated population-based estimates on the HTG-AP are lacking. Reducing serum triglyceride (TG) levels quickly is crucial in early treatment HTG-AP. Decreased TG treated by non-invasive methods, which include anti-lipidemic agents, heparin, low-molecular weight and insulin, invasive such as blood purification including hemoperfusion (HP), plasmapheresis, continuous renal replacement therapy. However,...
This multicenter, randomized phase III trial evaluated the efficacy and safety of perioperative camrelizumab (an anti-PD-1 antibody) plus low-dose rivoceranib (a VEGFR-2 inhibitor) S-1 oxaliplatin (SOX) (SOXRC), high-dose SOX (SOXR), alone for locally advanced gastric or gastroesophageal junction (G/GEJ) adenocarcinoma.
Abstract Background Curing locally advanced gastric cancer through surgery alone is difficult. Adjuvant and neoadjuvant chemotherapy bring potential benefits to more patients with based on several clinical trials. According phase II studies guidelines, SOX regimen as efficient. However, the optimal duration of has not been established. In this study, we will evaluate efficacy safety different cycles for cancer. Methods RESONANCE-II trial a prospective, multicenter, randomized, controlled III...
Patients with advanced stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD) commonly show high mortality and poor prognosis. Increasing evidence has suggested that basic metabolic changes may promote the growth aggressiveness of STAD; therefore, identification prognostic signatures in STAD would be meaningful. An integrative analysis was performed 407 samples from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) 433 Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) to develop a signature associated clinical immune features using Cox regression least...
Cancer stem cells (CSCs), characterized by infinite proliferation and self-renewal, greatly challenge tumor therapy. Research into their plasticity, dynamic instability, immune microenvironment interactions may help overcome this obstacle. Data on the stemness indices (mRNAsi), gene mutations, copy number variations (CNV), mutation burden (TMB), corresponding clinical characteristics were obtained from The Genome Atlas (TCGA) UCSC Xena Browser. Tumor purity infiltrating in stomach...
Background Alternative splicing (AS) increases the diversity of mRNA during transcription; it might play a role in alteration immune microenvironment, which could influence development immunotherapeutic strategies against cancer. Aim To obtain transcriptomic and clinical features AS events stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD) from database. The overall survival data associated with were used to construct signature prognostic model for STAD. Methods Differentially expressed immune-related genes...
Surgical resection combined with adjuvant chemotherapy is considered as the gold-standard treatment for advanced colorectal cancer patients. These patients have a poor 5-year survival rate of 5% or less. Furthermore, large dose can produce adverse side effects and severe toxicity. Therefore, this retrospective study aimed to evaluate efficacy dendritic cell-cytokine-induced killer (DC-CIK) cell infusion an therapy in first-line treatment. A total 142 stage III/IV carcinoma who had been...
To assess whether elevated serum carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) is in the inferior prognosis for pathological lymph node-negative (pN0) gastric cancer (GC) patients who underwent D2 gastrectomy.About 469 pN0 GC patients, received radical gastrectomy were retrospectively analyzed. The X-tile plots cut-off point CEA 30.02 ng/mL using minimum P-value from log-rank χ2 statistics, and assigned to two groups: those more than (n = 48; CEA-high group) less 421; CEA-low group). Clinicopathologic...
Abstract Background Surgery is the only treatment option for operable gastric cancer. The CLASSIC and ACTS-GC studies showed that 5-year overall survival (OS) of patients with stage III cancer undergoing D2 gastrectomy still very low. Whether adjuvant nanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel (nab-paclitaxel) combined chemotherapy more effective than XELOX standard in has not been confirmed. Methods This a multicenter, open-label, phase clinical study. In this trial, 616 locally advanced...
Objective To compare the medial-to-lateral approach with lateral-to-medial in laparoscopic right hemi-colectomy for colon cancer. Methods A prospective randomized controlled trial was performed Fujian provincial tumor hospital between January 2007 and July 2009. Forty-eight cases eolon cancer were randomly divided into two groups:medial-to- lateral group(group M) hemicolectomy L). Primary outcome(operative time) secondary outcomes (estimated blood loss, intra-operative complication,...
Due to the Total Mesorectal Excision (TME) surgery made a good local control, the role of radiotherapy in treatment pT3N0 rectal cancer is debated and whether this group patiens were overtreated has been controversy recently. This study aimed evaluate value adjuvant radiation after TME survival outcome for patients with adenocarcinoma. From January 2003 December 2011, total 141 radical resection principle enrolled. Among them, 42 (29.8%) got chemotherapy (CT) remaining cohort received...
Abstract Background We conducted a single-arm phase II trial to investigate the short-term efficacy and safety of apatinib combined with oxaliplatin S-1 in treatment unresectable gastric cancer. Patients methods Previously untreated patients HER-2-negative advanced cancer were selected. All received six cycles five apatinib, which administered at intervals three weeks. The surgery was performed after drug treatment. primary endpoints radical resection (R0) rate safety. This study registered...
<title>Abstract</title> Background To explore the efficacy and safety of immune checkpoint inhibitor Tislelizumab combined with Apatinib chemotherapy in neoadjuvant therapy Borrmann IV, large III Bulky N locally advanced gastric cancer. Methods Patients untreated, Her-2-negative, resectable adenocarcinoma (Borrmann III, N) were enrolled. Preoperative tirelizumab apatinib SOX regimen was performed for 3 to 6 cycles. cycles evaluation, if PR, surgery; SD, continue therapy, after re-evaluation...
Abstract Aim This study was designed to investigate the prognostic effect of preoperative body mass index (BMI) for Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients with non-metastasis gastric cancer (GC) who underwent D gastrectomy. Methods T2DM pT 1–4b N 0–3b M 0 GC were retrospectively collected in Department Gastrointestinal Surgical Oncology, Fujian Cancer Hospital & Medical University from January, 2000 December, 2010. These radical resection stomach combined regional lymphadenectomy....
A 78-year-old male was presented in our hospital. His preoperative CT and B-mode ultrasound showed no liver or lung metastasis. Enlarged lymph nodes (1-2 cm diameter) were found around the stomach near common bile duct. These masses invaded serous layer. However, enlarged node detected after peritoneum abdominal aorta. Pre-operative chemotherapy not feasible for such an elderly patient. Radical surgery then scheduled.
Objective To summarize the clinicopathological characteristics and analyze prognostic factors of young gastric cancer patients. Methods Data 1 801 patients (divided into ≤45 years age group, n=230 cases, >45 old n=1 571 cases) undergoing gastrectomy in Department Gastrointestinal Surgery, Fujian Provincial Cancer Hospital, from June 1999 to November 2015 were retrospectively analyzed. Results Compared with elderly patients, those more female higher percentage signet ring cell...
Objective To analyze the risk factor of delayed gastric emptying (DGE) and impact DGE on prognosis after radical gastrectomy distal carcinoma. Methods The clinical pathological data 1447 distant cancer patients undergoing from Jul 2007 to Jan 2018 at Fujian Tumour Hospital was analyzed retrospectively. Result DGE found in 101 (7.0%), occurring a median (6.0±2.1)d surgery. It significantly correled with age, diabetes, hypoproteinemia, preoperative pyloric obstruction, operation...
