Abnormally invasive placenta (AIP) poses diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. We analyzed clinical cases with confirmed increta or percreta.Retrospective case series.Multicenter study.Pregnant women AIP.Chart review.Prenatal detection rates, treatment choices, morbidity, mortality short-term outcome.Sixty-six were analyzed. All all but three fetuses survived; 57/64 (89%) had previous uterine surgery. In 26 (39%) the diagnosis was not known before delivery (Group 1), in remaining 40 (61%)...

Abstract Aims: The aim of this study was to investigate the current prenatal “off-label use” cytomegalovirus hyperimmunoglobulin (CMV-HIG) in prevention and treatment congenital CMV (cCMV) infection, including long-term outcome children. Methods: This retrospective observational comprised mothers their children, born between January 1, 2006, October 30, 2010. Prenatal CMV-HIG administered after diagnosis primary infection mother. Clinical virological data were collected from maternal...

First-trimester screening between 11 + 0 and 13 6 weeks with qualified prenatal counseling, detailed ultrasound, biochemical markers maternal factors has become the basis for decisions about further examinations. It detects numerous structural genetic anomalies. The inclusion of uterine artery Doppler PlGF screens preeclampsia fetal growth restriction. Low-dose aspirin significantly reduces prevalence severe preterm eclampsia. Cut-off values define groups high, intermediate low probability....

The mean duration of a normal pregnancy, calculated from the 1st day last menstrual period, is 280 days or 40 + 0 weeks gestation (GW). A pregnancy prolonged by more than 14 days, in other words, lasting 294 42 GW more, defined WHO and FIGO as prolonged, post-term post-mature pregnancy. period between 41 6 referred to late-term

We report a case idiopathic ductal detected prenatally by two-dimensional Doppler echocardiography fetus presenting atrial flutter right dilatation at 31 weeks gestation. Increased pulse wave reflection in the fetal arterial system, illustrated by a second systolic peak (M-sign) middle cerebral artery (MCA) Doppler waveforms, allows interpretation of systemic vasoconstriction. Little is known about vascular regulation during spina bifida (fSB) repair. Therefore, aim this study was to analyze MCA-Doppler waveform changes before, during, and after fSB repair.31 pregnant women who underwent repair were included. Fetal waveforms prospectively analyzed repair,...

Pulsatile cardiac action is an energy consuming process. During pulse wave (PW) travel to the periphery, reflection back LV occurs. The concept of condition number, WCN, provides evidence that consumption minimised when time return Tr takes a certain percentage cycle T. Our objective was assess WCN and timing Tr/T in human fetus. Based on relation: = HR×L/PWV, pulsatile optimised for 0.1 (HR: heart rate, L: effective aortic length, PWV: PW velocity; Pahlevan 2014, 2020). Rearranging with...

We report on the circulatory changes of a severely growth-retarded fetus at 26 weeks gestation with intrauterine death after 6 days observation and birth weight 480 g. On admission already showed signs centralisation; furthermore, we found pulsation in umbilical vein diastolic reverse flow artery. During this increased compensatory phase fetal centralisation was followed last day by decompensation an apparently normal middle cerebral artery waveform, mimicking preterminal normalisation blood flow.
