After several decades of increasing global economic integration, the world is facing risk policy-driven geoeconomic fragmentation (GEF). This note explores ramifications. It identifies multiple channels through which benefits globalization were earlier transmitted, and along which, conversely, costs GEF are likely to fall, including trade, migration, capital flows, technology diffusion provision public goods. consequences for international monetary system financial safety net. Finally, it...

We construct a new database which covers production and trade in 136 primary commodities 24 manufacturing service sectors for 145 countries. Using this more granular data, we estimate spillover effects from plausible fragmentation scenarios multi-country, multi-sector, general-equilibrium model that accounts unique demand supply characteristics of commodities. The results show fragmentation-induced output losses can be sizable, especially Low-Income-Countries, although the magnitudes vary...

In this study, we have developed a novel fluorescent "OFF-ON" quantum dots (QDs) sensor based on CdTe/CdS/SiO2 cores. Ammonium pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (APDC), ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA), and 1,10-phenanthroline (Phen) served as potential chemical etchants. Among these three etchants, APDC exhibited the most pronounced quenching effect (94.06%). The APDC-etched QDs demonstrated excellent optical properties: fluorescence of system (excitation wavelength: 365 nm emission 622...

The EU has made significant progress in cutting greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) recent decades. The 2020 targets were met early: GHG fell by 23 percent relative to the 1990 level already 2017, although many countries have a large gap between consumption-and production-based (Figure 2).Lower intensity was key driver (emissions per GDP declined 84 over this period). This mainly due shift toward cleaner energy mix as share of renewables production increased 30 last three decades.

Abstract Asthma is a common allergic disease characterized by airway hypersensitivity and remodeling. Ferroptosis regulated death marked iron accumulation lipid peroxidation. Several environmental pollutants allergens have been shown to cause ferroptosis in epithelial cells, but the relationship between birch pollinosis asthma poorly defined. Here, for first time, we identified of type II alveolar cells mice with Bet v 1-induced asthma. Further analysis revealed that treatment ferrostatin-1...

Abstract Alveolar epithelial injury is one of the important pathological changes in idiopathic pulmonary interstitial fibrosis (IPF), but regulatory mechanism remains unclear. Here, we reported that alveolar type-II cells (AT II) play roles process fibrosis.
