We isolated highly pathogenic avian influenza virus (H5N8) of clade 2.3.4.4 from the common coot (Fulica atra) in Egypt, documenting its introduction into Africa through migratory birds. This has a close genetic relationship with subtype H5N8 viruses circulating Europe. Enhanced surveillance to detect newly emerging is warranted.
Abstract Background Being a newly emerging disease, little is known about its long-lasting post-COVID-19 consequences. The aim of this work to assess the frequency, patterns, and determinants persistent symptoms evaluate value proposed novel COVID-19 symptom score. Patients with confirmed in hospital-based registry were included cross-sectional study (the hospitals including Assiut University Hospital, Chest Aswan Specialized Hospital). patient demographics, comorbid disorders, mean duration...
Abstract Two prototype 24‐unit microbioreactors are presented and reviewed for their relative merits. The first used a standard 24‐well plate as the template, while second consisted of 24‐discrete units. Both systems non‐invasive optical sensors to monitor pH dissolved oxygen. were cultivate Escherichia coli . designs had merits results obtained presented. In addition, oxygen control was demonstrated at milliliter scale 24 simultaneously monitored fermentations successfully carried out....
The adaptor protein p66Shc unexpectedly inhibits glucose metabolism, which could be a useful therapeutic target for diabetes or cancer.
Background and Aim: Multidrug resistance (MDR) of Escherichia coli has become an increasing concern in poultry farming worldwide. However, E. can accumulate genes through gene transfer. The most problematic mechanism is the acquisition encoding broad-spectrum β-lactamases, known as extended-spectrum that confer to cephalosporins. Plasmid-mediated quinolone (conferring quinolones) mcr-1 colistin) also contribute antimicrobial resistance. This study aimed investigate prevalence susceptibility...
The ING family of tumor suppressor proteins affects cell growth, apoptosis and response to DNA damage by modulating chromatin structure through association with different HAT HDAC complexes. major splicing isoforms the ING1 locus are ING1a INGlb. While INGlb plays a role in inducing apoptosis, function is currently unknown. Here we show that alternative message alters INGla:INGlb ratio approximately 30-fold senescent compared low passage primary fibroblasts. INGla antagonizes induces...
Derzsy's disease causes disastrous losses in domestic waterfowl farms. A genetically variant strain of Muscovy duck parvovirus (MDPV) and goose (GPV) was named novel (NGPV), which characteristic syndrome young ducklings. The clinically characterized by deformity beaks retarded growth, called short dwarfism (SBDS). Ten mule pekin farms were investigated for three Egyptian provinces. Despite low recorded mortality rate (20%), morbidity high (70%), but the economic remarkable as a result growth...
Duck hepatitis A virus (DHAV) causes acute and mortality, resulting in high economic losses the duck farm industry. The current study describes outbreak of DHAV vaccinated farms North Egypt during 2019 molecular characterization 3′ untranslated region (UTR) viral protein VP1 genes. 30 samples were collected from 7- to 28-day-old commercial Pekin ducks that showed a history nervous signs sudden deaths on 6 governorates. was typed by reverse transcription–polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) for...
The effect of parasites in natural populations has received increasing attention recent years. Studies have shown that may play an important part population ecology due to their potential effects on host fitness. main purpose the present study was investigate a nematode parasite (gapeworm, Syngamus trachea ) survival probability house sparrows Passer domesticus from six located 4 islands Helgeland archipelago northern Norway. Infection status obtained feces samples collected 603 summer and...
Abstract Background Being a newly emerging disease little is known about its long-lasting post COVID-19 consequences. Aim of this work to assess the frequency, patterns and determinants persistent symptoms evaluate value proposed Novel score. Patients with confirmed in registry were included cross sectional study. The patient demographics, comorbid disorders, mean duration since onset symptoms, history hospital or ICU admittance, treatment taken during acute state, as well score before after...
Rabbit hemorrhagic disease (RHD), is worldwide highly infectious of rabbits species Oryctolaguscuniculus. RHD one the major viral diseases which threaten rabbit population, caused by a calicivirus (genus Lagovirus). Multidisciplinary approach study on natural infection with virus (RHDV) in foreign breeds from some provinces Egypt was carried out. The postmortem and histopathology investigations naturally infected showed rhinitis submucosal hemorrhages trachea, bronchi bronchioles. lungs...
Eph receptors are a family of receptor tyrosine kinases that control directional cell movement during various biological processes, including embryogenesis, neuronal pathfinding, and tumor formation. The biochemical pathways context-dependent in part because the varied composition heterotypic, oligomeric, active complex. Downstream receptors, little is known about essential phosphorylation events define context instruct movement. Here, we pathway required for B2 (EphB2)-mediated sorting...
The INhibitor of Growth (ING) family type II tumor suppressors (ING1-ING5) is involved in many cellular processes such as cell aging, apoptosis, DNA repair and tumorigenesis. To expand our understanding the proteins with which ING interact, we designed a method that did not depend upon large-scale proteomics-based methods, since they may fail to highlight transient or relatively weak interactions. Here test cross-species (yeast, fly, human) bioinformatics-based approach identify potential...
Quickvue and Anigen lateral flow devices (LFDs) were evaluated for detection of H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) infections in Egyptian poultry. Sixty five chickens two turkeys sampled eight flocks where HPAI infection was suspected. Swabs (tracheal cloacal) feathers collected from each bird flockside testing by the LFDs. The same clinical specimens transported laboratory M gene RRT PCR a positive result this "gold standard" test one or both swabs given indicated at level,...
