Abstract Background The alarming spread of antimicrobial resistance requires the development novel anti-infective drugs. Despite recent research focus on human microbiome and its likely value to understand exploit inter-bacterial inhibitory phenomena as a source for strategies, microbiota has barely been investigated purpose drug development. Results We performed large screen analyzing over 3000 skin isolates evaluate bacterial competition within basis therapeutics. discovered Staphylococcus...
Magnesium (Mg) alloys that have both antibacterial and osteogenic properties are suitable candidates for orthopedic implants. However, the fabrication of ideal Mg implants bone repair remains challenging because it requires with interconnected pore structures personalized geometric shapes. In this study, we fabricated a porous 3D-printed Mg-Nd-Zn-Zr (denoted as JDBM) implant mechanical using selective laser melting technology. The JDBM exhibited cytocompatibility in MC3T3-E1 RAW267.4 cells...
Ribonuclease P (RNase P) is a universal ribozyme responsible for processing the 5'-leader of pre-transfer RNA (pre-tRNA). Here, we report 3.5-angstrom cryo-electron microscopy structures Saccharomyces cerevisiae RNase alone and in complex with pre-tRNAPhe The protein components form hook-shaped architecture that wraps around stabilizes into "measuring device" two fixed anchors recognize L-shaped pre-tRNA. A universally conserved uridine nucleobase phosphate backbone catalytic center together...
In order to verify the feasibility of producing Mg−rare earth (RE) alloy by selective laser melting (SLM) process, microstructure and mechanical properties Mg−15Gd−1Zn−0.4Zr (wt.%) (GZ151K) were investigated. The results show that fine grains (~2 μm), secondary phases weak texture, observed in as-fabricated (SLMed) GZ151K Mg alloy. At room temperature, SLMed has a yield strength (YS) 345 MPa, ultimate tensile (UTS) 368 MPa elongation 3.0%. After subsequent aging (200 °C, 64 h, T5 treatment),...
The microstructures and lap-shear behaviors of friction stir lap linear welded as-extruded 6061 Al alloy to as-cast Mg–3.0Nd–0.2Zn–0.7Zr (wt.%) (NZ30K) joints were examined. Various tool rotation travel speeds adopted prepare the joints. analysis temperature field indicates that peak for each sample can reach 450 °C, which exceeds eutectic reaction temperatures 437 °C according binary phase diagram Al–Mg system. fierce intermixing be found at interface between Mg alloys, forming...
Abstract JMJD3, a stress-inducible H3K27 demethylase, plays critical regulatory role in the initiation and progression of malignant hematopoiesis. However, how this histone modifier affects cell type-dependent manner remains unclear. Here, we show that contrast to its oncogenic effect preleukemia state lymphoid malignancies, JMJD3 relieves differentiation-arrest certain subtypes (such as M2 M3) acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cells. RNA sequencing ChIP−PCR analyses revealed exerts anti-AML by...
Abstract EDA is a tumor necrosis factor (TNF) family member, which functions together with its cognate receptor EDAR during ectodermal organ development. Mutations of have long been known to cause X‐linked hypohidrotic dysplasia in humans characterized by primary defects teeth, hair and sweat glands. However, the structural information interaction lacking pathogenic mechanism variants poorly understood. Here, we report crystal structure C-terminal TNF homology domain bound N-terminal...
Abstract Heterogeneity and drug resistance of tumor cells are the leading causes incurability poor survival for patients with recurrent breast cancer. In order to accurately deliver biological anticancer drugs different subtypes malignant omnidirectional targeted treatment cancer, a distinct design is demonstrated by embedding liposome‐based nanocomplexes containing pro‐apoptotic peptide survivin siRNA (LPR) into Herceptin/hyaluronic acid cross‐linked nanohydrogels (Herceptin‐HA) fabricate...
