We report a draft sequence for the genome of domesticated silkworm (Bombyx mori), covering 90.9% all known genes. Our estimated gene count is 18,510, which exceeds 13,379 genes reported Drosophila melanogaster. Comparative analyses to fruitfly, mosquito, spider, and butterfly reveal both similarities differences in content.
We report improved whole-genome shotgun sequences for the genomes of indica and japonica rice, both with multimegabase contiguity, or almost 1,000-fold improvement over drafts 2002. Tested against a nonredundant collection 19,079 full-length cDNAs, 97.7% genes are aligned, without fragmentation, to mapped super-scaffolds one other genome. introduce gene identification procedure plants that does not rely on similarity known remove erroneous predictions resulting from transposable elements....
As one of the largest transcription factor families in plants, APETALA2/Ethylene-Responsive Factor (AP2/ERF) superfamily is involved various biological processes and plays significant roles plant growth, development responses to stresses. Although identification characterization AP2/ERF genes have been accomplished many species, very little known regarding structure function maize. In this study, a total 214 encoding ZmAP2/ERF proteins with complete domain were eventually identified according...
The harsh environment such as high temperature greatly limits the growth, development and production of crops worldwide. NAC (NAM, ATAF1/2, CUC2) transcription factors (TFs) play key regulatory roles in abiotic stress responses plants. However, functional TFs heat response maize remain elusive. In our present study, we identified isolated a stress-responsive factor gene maize, designated ZmNAC074 orthologous with rice OsNTL3. Further studies revealed that may encode membrane-bound (MTF)...
Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) are the prominent cell type in tumor microenvironment (TME), and CAF subsets have been identified various tumors. However, how CAFs spatially coordinate other populations within liver TME to promote cancer progression remains unclear.
In Computed Tomography (CT) imaging, the ring artifacts caused by inconsistent detector response can significantly degrade reconstructed images, having negative impacts on subsequent applications. The new generation of CT systems based photon-counting detectors are affected more severely. flexibility and variety responses make it difficult to build a well-defined model characterize artifacts. this context, study proposes global dependency-enhanced dual-domain parallel neural network for Ring...
Dedifferentiated chondrosarcoma is a rare, highly malignant tumor with poor survival. There are many confusing issues concerning the imaging feature that can facilitate early diagnosis and factors might be related to outcomes.Twenty-three patients dedifferentiated confirmed by pathology were retrospectively reviewed from 2008 2015. The patients' clinical information, images radiographs (n = 17), CT 19), MRI histological features, treatment prognosis analyzed. There 12 males 11 females, mean...
Orthopedic spine disease is one of the most common diseases in clinic. The diagnosis spinal orthopedic injury an important basis for treatment diseases. Due to complexity structure, doctors usually need rely on CT image data accurate diagnosis. In some cases, such as poor areas or emergency situations, it difficult make diagnoses using only 2D x-ray images due lack 3D imaging equipment time crunch. Therefore, approach based needed solve this problem. paper, a novel reconstruction technique...
4D cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) plays a critical role in adaptive radiation therapy for lung cancer. However, extremely sparse sampling projection data will cause severe streak artifacts CBCT images. Existing deep learning (DL) methods heavily rely on large labeled training datasets which are difficult to obtain practical scenarios. Restricted by this dilemma, DL models often struggle with simultaneously retaining dynamic motions, removing degradations, and recovering fine details....
The purpose of the study was to evaluate feasibility microbubbles as phase contrast imaging (PCI) agents for angiography applications. hypothesis that introduction into tissue produces a significant change in refractive index and highlights lumen vessel PCI. absorption images commercially available were obtained compared vitro. A further increase observed Microbubbles highlighted renal microvessels, acting positive medium ex vivo imaging. In addition, home-made with larger diameters...
The development of multidrug resistance (MDR) is a major cause for the failure chemotherapy, which requires aid nanomedicine. Here in our study, Cu2+ based metal-organic framework (COF) was firstly developed and employed as carrier delivery glucose oxidase (GOx) doxorubicin (Dox) (COF/GOx/Dox) therapy MDR lung cancers. Our results showed that GOx can catalyze produce H2O2. In mean time, react with GSH then transform into Cu+, resulted depletion. Afterwards, produced Cu+ H2O2 trigger Fenton...
Abstract Current bio-medical imaging researches aim to detect brain micrometastasis in early stage for its increasing incidence and high mortality rates. Synchrotron phase-contrast techniques, such as in-line (IPC) grating-based (GPC) imaging, could provide a spatial density study of biological specimens' 3D structures. In this study, we demonstrated the detection efficiencies these two tools on breast cancer an ex vivo mouse brain. We found that both IPC GPC can differentiate abnormal...
Polyamines (PAs) play a critical role in growth and developmental processes stress responses plants. Polyamine oxidase (PAO) is flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD)-dependent enzyme that plays major PA catabolism. Here, for the first time, PAO genes maize were screened whole genome-wide nine ZmPAO identified this study, named as ZmPAO1-9. Based on structural characteristics comparison of phylogenetic relationships gene families from seven representative species, all proteins categorized into...
In the present study, we investigated potential of gas-filled microbubbles as contrast agents for in-line x-ray phase-contrast imaging (PCI) in biomedical applications. When parameters are optimized, function microlenses that focus incoming x-rays to form bright spots, which can significantly enhance image contrast. Since have been shown be safe clinical ultrasonography, this contrast-enhancement procedure PCI may promising utility applications, especially when dose radiation is a serious...
We present an x-ray microtomography study of the compaction process cylindrical rods under tapping. The is monitored by measuring evolution orientational order parameter, local, and overall packing densities as a function tapping number for different intensities. slow relaxation dynamics parameter can be well fitted with stretched-exponential law stretching exponents ranging from 0.9 to 1.6. corresponding time versus intensity follows Arrhenius behavior which reminiscent in thermal glassy...
The quality of depth maps is crucial for 2D to 3D conversion, but high map generation methods are usually very time consuming. We propose an efficient semi-automatic scheme based on limited user inputs and propagation. First, the original image over-segmented. Then, values selected pixels approximate locations T-junctions specified by inputs. final obtained propagation combining inputs, color edge information. experimental results demonstrate that our satisfactory in terms both accuracy...
An X-ray grating interferometer was installed at the BL13W beamline of Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF) for biomedical imaging applications. Compared with results from conventional absorption-based micro-computed tomography, this set-up has shown much better soft tissue capability. In particular, using set-up, carotid artery and vein in a formalin-fixed mouse can be visualized situ without contrast agents, paving way future applications cancer angiography studies. The overall...
Vaginal delivery may cause levator avulsion, which increase the risk of pelvic floor dysfunction (PFD). To explore morphological changes ani muscle (including puborectalis and iliococcygeus) avulsion after vaginal delivery, translabial tomographic ultrasound imaging (TUI) was used to examine 80 women 45-60 days their delivery. Subsequently, magnetic resonance (MRI) performed if at least one-sided found on TUI. The incidence in these postpartum 13.75% this study. Both MRI TUI can detect well,...
