We have produced a draft sequence of the rice genome for most widely cultivated subspecies in China, Oryza sativa L. ssp. indica , by whole-genome shotgun sequencing. The was 466 megabases size, with an estimated 46,022 to 55,615 genes. Functional coverage assembled sequences 92.0%. About 42.2% exact 20-nucleotide oligomer repeats, and transposons were intergenic regions between Although 80.6% predicted Arabidopsis thaliana genes had homolog rice, only 49.4% A. . large proportion no...

We report a draft sequence for the genome of domesticated silkworm (Bombyx mori), covering 90.9% all known genes. Our estimated gene count is 18,510, which exceeds 13,379 genes reported Drosophila melanogaster. Comparative analyses to fruitfly, mosquito, spider, and butterfly reveal both similarities differences in content.

We report improved whole-genome shotgun sequences for the genomes of indica and japonica rice, both with multimegabase contiguity, or almost 1,000-fold improvement over drafts 2002. Tested against a nonredundant collection 19,079 full-length cDNAs, 97.7% genes are aligned, without fragmentation, to mapped super-scaffolds one other genome. introduce gene identification procedure plants that does not rely on similarity known remove erroneous predictions resulting from transposable elements....

Abstract To unravel the genetic mechanisms of disease and physiological traits, it requires comprehensive sequencing analysis large sample size in Chinese populations. Here, we report primary results Academy Sciences Precision Medicine Initiative (CASPMI) project launched by Sciences, including de novo assembly a northern Han reference genome (NH1.0) whole analyses 597 healthy people coming from most areas China. Given two existing genomes for (YH HX1) were both south, constructed NH1.0, new...

Abstract COVID-19 has swept globally and Pakistan is no exception. To investigate the initial introductions transmissions of SARS-CoV-2 in Pakistan, we performed largest genomic epidemiology study generated 150 complete genome sequences from samples collected March 16 to June 1, 2020. We identified a total 347 mutated positions, 31 which were over-represented Pakistan. Meanwhile, found over 1000 intra-host single-nucleotide variants (iSNVs). Several them occurred concurrently, indicating...

ABSTRACT Pakistan has been severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. To investigate initial introductions and transmissions of SARS-CoV-2 in country, we performed largest genomic epidemiology study generated 150 complete genome sequences from samples collected before June 1, 2020. We identified a total 347 variants, 29 which were over-represented Pakistan. Meanwhile, found over one thousand intra-host single-nucleotide variants. Several them occurred concurrently, indicating possible...
