We aimed to develop an ovarian cancer-specific predictive framework for clinical stage, histotype, residual tumor burden, and prognosis using machine learning methods based on multiple biomarkers.Overall, 334 patients with epithelial cancer (EOC) 101 benign tumors were randomly assigned "training" "test" cohorts. Seven supervised classifiers, including Gradient Boosting Machine (GBM), Support Vector Machine, Random Forest (RF), Conditional RF (CRF), Naïve Bayes, Neural Network, Elastic Net,...

Gastric-type mucinous carcinoma (GAS) is a novel variant of the uterine cervix. As shown in original Japanese group description, recent studies, GAS represents more aggressive disease than usual-type endocervical adenocarcinoma (UEA). Detailed clinicopathological features this remain to be elucidated larger series patients.Patients were enrolled by Gynecologic Cancer Study Group Japan Clinical Oncology after receiving approval each Institutional Review Board. The efficacy of taxane plus platinum regimens has been demonstrated for advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer; however, it not assessed in postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy cancer. To evaluate the clinical benefit compared with standard doxorubicin cisplatin as cancer. In this multicenter, open-label, phase 3 randomized trial, patients cancer at high-risk stage I II III IV that did extend beyond abdominal cavity and had 2 cm greater residual tumor were included from 118 institutions Japan...

BACKGROUND: Intraperitoneal chemotherapy has been shown to be effective at reducing mortality for patients with advanced epithelial ovarian cancer but is not widely used in practice. METHODS: We performed the Therapy Ovarian Cancer Carboplatin (iPocc) trial as an open-label, international, multi-institutional, randomized phase 2/3 clinical women newly diagnosed who underwent laparotomy or laparoscopy. All received intravenous paclitaxel (80 mg/m2 on days 1, 8, and 15 of a 21-day cycle). In...

Abstract Aim The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy and safety enoxaparin intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC) for venous thromboembolism (VTE) prevention in Japanese surgical patients with gynecologic malignancy. Material Methods Patients ≥40 years old undergoing major surgery malignancy without preoperative VTE were included. Written informed consent obtained. Enrolled received IPC immediately before surgery. After surgery, they randomly assigned either an group or IPC‐alone...

Epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) is the most common cause of gynecological malignancy-related mortality. Ovarian clear cell carcinoma (CCC) has unique clinical characteristics and behaviors that differ from other histological types EOC, including a frequent association with endometriosis highly chemoresistant nature, resulting in poor prognosis. However, factors underlying its malignant behavior are still poorly understood. Aberrant expression microRNAs been shown to be involved oncogenesis,...

Aim The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact surgical staging in stage I clear cell adenocarcinoma ovary (CCC). Methods We performed a retrospective review 165 patients with CCC treated optimal or nonoptimal surgery. Results median follow-up period 67 months. No significant difference detected recurrence-free survival (RFS) overall (OS) between optimally and nonoptimally staged (RFS: P = 0.434; OS: 0.759). estimated 5-year RFS OS rates were 92.1% 95.3% stages IA/IC1 81.0% 83.7%...

Brain concussions are a serious public concern and associated with neuropsychiatric disorders, such as depression. Patients concussion who suffer from depression often experience distress. Nevertheless, few pre-clinical studies have examined concussion-induced depression, there is little information regarding its pharmacological management.
