Abstract Background Numerous vaccine strategies are being advanced to control SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19 pandemic. EuCorVac-19 (ECV19) is a recombinant protein nanoparticle that displays SARS-CoV-2 receptor-binding domain (RBD) on immunogenic nanoliposomes. Methods Initial study phase 2 randomized, observer-blind, placebo-controlled trial assess immunogenicity, safety, and tolerance ECV19 was carried out between July October 2021. Two hundred twenty-nine participants were enrolled at...

Background: Previous risk assessment tools for patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) have not primarily focused on those acute ischemic stroke (AIS). Prediction models that rely solely clinical parameters shown limited predictive ability, underscoring the need incorporate neuroimaging to improve prediction of recurrence in AIS AF. Method: The East-Asian Ischemic Stroke Patients Atrial Fibrillation (EAST-AF) study was a nationwide, multicenter prospective registry enrolled AF from 15...

Introduction: Current guidelines solely recommend optimal medical therapy including antiplatelet, lipid lowering, and antihypertensive treatment due to the unclear efficacy of stenting endarterectomy for symptomatic vertebral artery (VA) stenosis. However, incidence recurrent ischemic stroke(RIS) in VA steno-occlusion under real-world settings is not well established. This study aims assess RIS identify high-risk populations who might benefit from additional interventions among patients with...

The influence of duration type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) on the likelihood developing new-onset dementia in post-stroke population is not well understood. Therefore, we aimed to clarify relationship between T2DM and risk population. Leveraging Korean National Health Insurance Database, this study included 118,790 individuals with a history stroke but no previous diagnosis. We classified status into five categories: normoglycemia, impaired fasting glucose (IFG), newly diagnosed T2DM,...

Abstract EuCorVac‐19 (ECV‐19) is a recombinant receptor binding domain (RBD) COVID‐19 vaccine that displays the RBD (derived from SARS‐CoV‐2 Wuhan strain) on immunogenic liposomes. This study compares safety and immunogenicity of ECV‐19 to COVISHIELD TM (CS) adenoviral‐vectored vaccine. Interim analysis presented randomized, observer‐blind, immunobridging Phase 3 trial in Philippines 2600 subjects, with treatment biospecimen collection between October 2022 January 2023. Healthy male female...

Background: There are only few studies exploring the relationship between white matter lesions (WMLs) and non-motor symptoms in Parkinson disease (PD). This study aimed to investigate association WMLs severity of PD. Methods: The motor dysfunction, cognitive impairment, was assessed by various scales 105 PD patients. We used a visual semiquantitative rating scale divided subjects into four groups: no, mild, moderate,...

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a major cause of acute lower respiratory tract infection in infants, young children, and the elderly. Two subtypes RSV, A B, circulate alternately at 1-2-year intervals during epidemics. The attachment glycoprotein (G protein) RSV one targets for immune responses. In this study, we generated recombinant fusion protein, GcfAB, which consists central regions (a.a. residues 131-230) G proteins both (A2 strain) B (B1 subtypes, investigated immunogenicity,...

Background Perfusion imaging (PI) serves as a valuable tool for triaging patients with acute ischemic stroke endovascular treatment (EVT). This study aims to investigate trends in PI use and its impacts on EVT rates clinical outcomes, particularly focusing variations across different time windows. Methods Data from prospective, nationwide, registry South Korea were analyzed retrospectively. was regarded treatment‐decision when conducted either (1) prior EVT, or (2) within 3 hours hospital...

We hypothesized that genetically invariable and immunologically dormant of antigen could be exposed host immune system activated by rendering them susceptible antigen-processing machinery professional antigen-presenting cells (APCs).
