Abstract Modern humans expanded into Eurasia more than 40,000 years ago following their dispersal out of Africa. These Eurasians carried ~2–3% Neanderthal ancestry in genomes, originating from admixture with Neanderthals that took place sometime between 50,000 and 60,000 ago, probably the Middle East. In Europe, modern human expansion preceded disappearance fossil record by 3,000–5,000 years. The genetic makeup first Europeans who colonized continent remains poorly understood since few...

The first piezochemically driven decarboxylative coupling of the C–H bond was developed. agitation BaTiO3 via ball milling converts mechanical energy into electrical potential, leading to production a benzoyl radical single-electron transfer pathway analogous photocatalytic reaction. This mechanoredox catalytic strategy synthesize C3-acylated quinoxalin-2(1H)-ones requires no solvent, short reaction time, and simple handling skills, exhibiting promising potential in large-scale chemical...

Human populations underwent range contractions during the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) which had lasting and dramatic effects on their genetic variation. The ancestry of individuals associated with post-LGM Magdalenian technocomplex has been interpreted as being derived from groups pre-LGM Aurignacian. However, both these ancestries differ that central European chronologically intermediate Gravettian. Thus, genomic transition pre- to remains unclear also in western Europe, where we lack data...

Inspired by the legacy of Netflix contest, we provide an overview what has been learned—from our own efforts, and those others—concerning problems collaborative filtering recommender systems. The data set consists about 100 million movie ratings (from 1 to 5 stars) involving some 480 thousand users 18 movies; associated matrix is 99% sparse. goal predict that will give systems which can do this accurately have significant commercial applications, particularly on world wide web. We discuss,...

Abstract The distribution of the black rat ( Rattus rattus ) has been heavily influenced by its association with humans. dispersal history this non-native commensal rodent across Europe, however, remains poorly understood, and different introductions may have occurred during Roman medieval periods. Here, in order to reconstruct population European rats, we first generate a de novo genome assembly rat. We then sequence 67 ancient three modern mitogenomes, 36 nuclear genomes from...

The earliest cats in human settlements China were not domestic (Felis catus), but native leopard (Prionailurus bengalensis). To trace when and how arrived East Asia, we analyzed 22 feline bones from 14 sites across spanning 5,000 years. Nuclear mitochondrial genomes revealed that began occupying anthropogenic scenes around 5,400 years ago last appeared 150 CE. Following several centuries' gap of archeological remains, the first known cat (706 to 883 CE) was identified Shaanxi during Tang...

Interesting patterns often occur at varied levels of support. The classic association mining based on a uniform minimum support, such as Apriori, either misses interesting low support or suffers from the bottleneck itemset generation caused by A better solution lies in exploiting constraints, which specify what is required for itemsets, so that only necessary itemsets are generated. We present framework frequent presence constraints. Our approach to "push" constraints into Apriori "best"...
