Abstract. This overview paper highlights the successes of Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) on board Aura satellite spanning a period nearly 14 years. Data from OMI has been used in wide range applications and research resulting many new findings. Due to its unprecedented spatial resolution, combination with daily global coverage, plays unique role measuring trace gases important for ozone layer, air quality, climate change. With operational very fast delivery (VFD; direct readout) near...

Abstract. We present and discuss the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (SAO) formaldehyde (H2CO) retrieval algorithm for Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) which is operational NASA OMI H2CO. The version of described here includes relevant changes with respect to one, including differences in reference spectra H2CO, fit O2–O2 collisional complex, updates high-resolution solar spectrum, use a model sector over remote Pacific Ocean normalize retrievals, an updated air mass factor (AMF)...
Abstract Aircraft and satellite observations indicate the presence of ppt (ppt ≡ pmol/mol) levels BrO in free troposphere with important implications for tropospheric budgets ozone, OH, mercury. We can reproduce these GEOS‐Chem global chemistry model by including a broader consideration multiphase halogen (Br‐Cl) than has been done past. Important reactions regenerating from its nonradical reservoirs include HOBr + Br − /Cl both aerosols clouds, oxidation ClNO 3 ozone. Most is troposphere,...

Empirical constraints are obtained radial...
We present measurements of the ratio proton elastic electromagnetic form factors, μpGEp/GMp. The Jefferson Lab Hall A Focal Plane Polarimeter was used to determine longitudinal and transverse components recoil polarization in ep scattering; these is proportional two factors. These data reproduce observation Jones et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 84, 1398 (2000)], that factor decreases significantly from unity above Q2=1GeV2.Received 29 May 2001DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevC.64.038202©2001...
We report on a measurement of the parity-violating asymmetry in scattering longitudinally polarized electrons unpolarized protons at Q2 0.230 (GeV/c)(2) and angle theta (e) = 30 degrees - 40 degrees. Using large acceptance fast PbF2 calorimeter with solid delta omega 0.62 sr, A4 experiment is first parity violation to count individual events. The measured A(phys)=(-5.44+/-0.54(stat)+/-0.26(sys))x10(-6). standard model expectation assuming no strangeness contributions vector form factors A(0)...

The measured is A(LR)(e-->p)=[-1.36+/-0.29(stat)+/-0.13(syst)]x10(-6). expectation from standard model assuming no strangeness contribution to vector current A(0)=(-2.06+/-0.14)x10(-6). have improved statistical accuracy by factor 3...
We have measured the transverse asymmetry ${A}_{{T}^{\ensuremath{'}}}$ in ${}^{3}\stackrel{\ensuremath{\rightarrow}}{\mathrm{He}}(\stackrel{\ensuremath{\rightarrow}}{e}{,e}^{\ensuremath{'}})$ quasielastic scattering Hall A at Jefferson Laboratory with high precision for ${Q}^{2}$ values from 0.1 to $0.6(\mathrm{GeV}/c{)}^{2}$. The neutron magnetic form factor ${G}_{M}^{n}$ was extracted based on Faddeev calculations ${Q}^{2}\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}=\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}0.1$ and...
The imaging Compton telescope COMPTEL aboard NASA's Gamma-Ray Observatory has opened the MeV gamma-ray band as a new window to astronomy. provided first complete all-sky survey in energy range 0.75 30 MeV. catalogue, presented here, is largely restricted published results. It contains firm well marginal detections of continuum and line emitting sources presents upper limits for various types objects. numbers most significant are 32 steady 31 bursters. Among sources, detected so far,...
We use combined Ultraviolet Coronagraph Spectrometer and Large Angle Spectroscopic data to determine the O5+ outflow velocities as a function of height along axis an equatorial streamer at solar minimum latitude (at 2.3 R☉ from Sun center). The results show that increases rather abruptly in region between 3.6 4.1 near cusp gradually ~90 km s-1 ~5 stalk beyond cusp. latitudinal variation shows there is no (within measurement uncertainties) center streamer, called core, steep increase occurs...
We have measured the parity-violating electroweak asymmetry in elastic scattering of polarized electrons from proton. We present an assessment study of the Global Ozone Monitoring Experiment 2 (GOME‐2) reflectance for wavelength range 270–350 nm by comparing measurements with simulations calculated using vector linearized discrete ordinate radiative transfer model (VLIDORT) and Microwave Limb Sounder (MLS) ozone profiles. The results indicate wavelength‐ cross‐track‐position‐dependent biases. GOME‐2 is overestimated 10% near 300 15%–20% around 270 nm. Stokes fraction made onboard polarization measurement...
Intensive theoretical and experimental efforts over the past decade have aimed at explaining discrepancy between data for proton electric to magnetic form factor ratio, G(E)/G(M), obtained separately from cross section polarization transfer measurements. One possible explanation this difference is a two-photon-exchange contribution. In an effort search effects beyond one-photon-exchange or Born approximation, we report measurements of observables in elastic H(e[over →],e(')p[over →])...
Over the last five decades, Earth's atmosphere has been extensively monitored from space using different spectral ranges. Early efforts were directed at improving weather forecasts with first meteorological satellites launched in 1960s. Soon thereafter, intersection between weather, climate and atmospheric chemistry led to observation of composition space. During 1970s Nimbus satellite program started regular monitoring ozone integrated columns water vapor profiles Backscatter Ultraviolet...
