Summary In Arabidopsis thaliana , a family of four genes ( HY1 HO2 HO3 and HO4 ) encode haem oxygenase (HO), play major role in phytochrome chromophore biosynthesis. To characterize the contribution various isoforms involved salt acclimation, effects NaCl on seed germination primary root growth wild‐type HO mutants hy1‐100 ho2 ho3 ho4 were compared. Among mutants, displayed maximal sensitivity to salinity showed no acclimation response, whereas plants over‐expressing 35S:HY1 exhibited...

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs), α-Fe2O3 nanoparticles (nano Fe2O3) and MgO MgO) were evaluated for the effects on algae growth lipid production. Nano Fe2O3 promoted cell in range of 0-20 mg·L-1. CNTs, nano inhibited Scenedesmus obliquus at 10, 40 0.8 mg·L-1 respectively. Neutral total content increased with increasing concentration all tested nanoparticles. The maximum productivity cultures exposed to was observed 5 mg·L-1, improvement by 8.9%, 39.6% 18.5%. High dose exposure limited increase...

Abstract The development of nonpyrolytic catalysts featuring precisely defined active sites represents an effective strategy for investigating the fundamental relationship between catalytic activity oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and their local coordination environments. In this study, we have synthesized a series model electrocatalysts with well‐defined CoN 4 centers nonplanar symmetric structures. These were prepared by sequential process involving chelation cobalt salts...

Haem oxygenase-1 (HO-1) confers protection against a variety of oxidant-induced cell and tissue injury in animals plants. In this report, it is confirmed that programmed death (PCD) wheat aleurone layers stimulated by GA prevented ABA. Meanwhile, HO activity HO-1 protein expression exhibited lower levels GA-treated layers, whereas the hydrogen peroxide (H(2)O(2)) content was apparently increased. The pharmacology approach illustrated scavenging or accumulating H(2)O(2) either delayed...

Provide an evolutionary and empirical molecular genetic foundation of the Sus gene family in tobacco will be beneficial for further investigations functions Sucrose synthase (Sus) has been well characterized as key enzyme participating sucrose metabolism, encoding different isozymes cloned several plant species. However, scant information about this is available to date tobacco. Here, we identified 14, 6, 7 genes genomes Nicotiana tabacum, N. sylvestris tomentosiformis, respectively. These...

Lycopene ε-cyclase (ε-LCY) is a key enzyme that catalyzes the synthesis of α-branch carotenoids through cyclization lycopene. Two cDNA molecules encoding ε-LCY (designated Ntε-LCY1 and Ntε-LCY2) were cloned from Nicotiana tabacum. Ntε-LCY2 are encoded by two distinct genes with different evolutionary origins, one originating tobacco progenitor, sylvestris, other tomentosiformis. The coding regions 97% identical at nucleotide level 95% amino acid level. Transcripts Ntε-LCY detectable in both...
