Age-related disorders are closely linked to the accumulation of senescent cells. The senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP) sustains and progresses chronic inflammation, which is involved in cellular tissue dysfunction. SASP-related growth differentiation factor-15 (GDF-15) an immunoregulatory cytokine that coupled aging thus may have a regulatory role development maintenance atherosclerosis, major cause cardiovascular disease (CVD). Although effects GDF-15 tissue-specific...

Background and aimsVisceral obesity is a marker of dysfunctional adipose tissue ectopic fat infiltration. Many studies have shown that visceral dysfunction has close relationship with cardiovascular disease. For better identification adiposity dysfunction, the index (VAI) used. Coronary artery calcium score (CACS) known to strong correlation total plaque burden therefore provides information about severity coronary atherosclerosis. CACS predictor cardiac events it refines risk assessment...

Several inflammatory biomarkers were found to be associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is a marker subclinical inflammation that increases the stress response. Visceral adiposity index (VAI) calculated as combination anthropometric and metabolic parameters reflects both extent function visceral adipose tissue. Given association obesity diseases, it plausible inflammation-CVD modulated by amount Thus, our aim was examine between NLR...

Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the leading cause of death among elderly people. Proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) is an important regulator cholesterol metabolism. Herein, we investigated role PCSK9 in age-related CVD. Both humans and rats, blood level correlated positively with increasing age development cardiovascular dysfunction. Age-related fatty degeneration liver tissue serum levels rat model, while nonalcoholic disease functional impairment. Network analysis...

Abstract Background Diastolic dysfunction (DD) often precedes symptomatic heart failure and is a predictor of adverse outcomes; thus, accurate assessment grading are crucial for early interventions. Current guidelines recommend combining multiple echocardiographic parameters, including left atrial volume index (LAVi), diagnosing DD in patients with normal ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF). Recently, reservoir strain (LASr) emerged as more sensitive marker function, although its added...

Abstract Background 2D echocardiography requires multiple views for the assessment of left ventricular (LV) systolic function and does not enable calculation right (RV) ejection fraction (EF). 3D (3DE) has clear incremental value over echocardiography; nevertheless, its availability feasibility is limited. Purpose We aimed to develop a dual-task deep learning model – EF2Net predicting 3DE-derived LVEF RVEF from apical 4-chamber (A4C) view echocardiographic videos. Methods The comprises two...

The rapid growth of web-based symptom checkers (SCs) is not matched by advances in quality assurance. Currently, there are no widely accepted criteria assessing SCs' performance. Vignette studies used to evaluate SCs, measuring the accuracy outcome. Accuracy behaves as a composite metric it affected number individual SC- and tester-dependent factors. In contrast clinical studies, vignette have small testers. Hence, alone may provide reliable assessment performance due tester variability.
