In Brief Study Design. Retrospective review of anterior and posterior fusions for treatment Lenke5C adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS). Objective. To compare the clinical radiographic results versus pedicle screw instrumentation in AIS. Summary Background Data. Anterior instrumentations are 2 established methods correcting However, there few reports that methods. Methods. Forty-six consecutive patients with AIS curves underwent selective lumbar or thoracolumbar fusion (1999-2005)....

MicroRNA-663a expression is downregulated in several tumors. However, its functions and mechanisms human non-small cell lung (NSCLC) cancer remain obscure. The present study aimed to identify the pattern, biological roles potential by which miR-663a dysregulation associated with NSCLC. We examined level of 62 cases NSCLC tissues 5 lines reverse transcription PCR. In vitro, gain-of-function loss-of-function experiments were performed examine impact on proliferation, cycle progression invasion...

Abstract Background The biologically active form of transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) plays a key role in the development lung fibrosis. CD36 is involved transformation latent TGF-β1 (L-TGF-β1) to TGF-β1. To clarify silica-induced fibrosis, rat silicosis model was used observe both inhibition L-TGF-β1 activation and antifibrotic effect obtained by lentiviral vector silencing expression. Methods induced intratracheal injection 10 mg silica per expression silenced administration...

HPV 16 E6 upregulates hTERT expression in lung cancer cells. However, the underlying molecular mechanism is unclear. In this paper, E6, LKB1, SP1, and mRNA levels were detected brushing cells of patients with (n = 106) benign disease 68) by qRT-PCR. The significantly increased malignant group compared (P < 0.01). Conversely, level LKB1 was decreased Furthermore, correlation between Sp1, hTERT, performed, our results indicated that positive, but negative To investigate potential relationship...

Abstract Objectives To assess the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of suspected cardiac masses by contrast‐enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) to evaluate its usefulness. Methods Twenty‐eight adult patients with were selected for this study. All them examined conventional transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) CEUS. The location, attachment point, basement, morphology, size, boundary, internal echo, shape change, range motion, length, area, effect on hemodynamics, peak enhancement...

Objectives In animal models with constrictive pericarditis (CP), detecting the function of cardiac systole by conventional noninvasive ultrasound is a challenge. We aimed to detect dysfunction in rat CP early stage layered speckle tracking. Methods compared model (n = 23, injected solution 1‐mg/mL lipopolysaccharides [0.5 mL] and 10% talc suspension mL]) control group 20, no injection). After 8 weeks, echocardiography tracking were used assess left ventricular structures functions groups....

Abstract Background Huntingtin‐interacting protein 1‐related (HIP1R) is a multi‐domain gene that exerts many cellular functions including altering T cell–mediated cytotoxicity and controlling intracellular trafficking. However, its clinical significance function in gastric cancer (GC) have not been described. Methods The expression levels of HIP1R were tested by the transcriptional translational analysis immunohistochemistry (IHC) matched adjacent non‐tumorous vs tumor tissue specimens....
