To the Editor: Coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19), a pneumonia associated with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-Cov2), was first identified in Wuhan, China, December 2019, and characterized as pandemic by World Health Organization on March 11, 2020. Fever, dry cough, dyspnea, fatigue, anorexia, ageusia, anosmia are common symptoms of COVID-19. Reported skin manifestations COVID-19 include erythematous lesions, sometimes dengue-like petechiae,1Joob B. Wiwanitkit V. can...
<h3>Importance</h3> VEXAS (vacuoles, E1 enzyme, X-linked, autoinflammatory, somatic) is a recently described severe adult-onset autoinflammatory disease that associated with myeloid lineage-restricted ubiquitin-activating enzyme 1 (<i>UBA1</i>) somatic variations primarily affect the skin (Sweet syndrome), cartilage, and bone marrow. Skin symptoms have been poorly described. <h3>Objective</h3> To better describe clinical pathological manifestations their pathophysiology in syndrome....
BackgroundThe outbreak of chilblain‐like lesions (CLL) during the COVID‐19 pandemic has been reported extensively, potentially related to SARS‐CoV‐2 infection, yet its underlying pathophysiology is unclear.
Immune checkpoint inhibitors for melanoma improve adaptive T cell immunity during COVID-19 without exacerbating inflammation.
Bullous pemphigoid (BP) is the most common autoimmune blistering disease in Europe and its treatment can be challenging. Several published cases have reported dupilumab efficiency treatment-refractory patients. We conducted a retrospective multicentric study of 36 patients to evaluate real-life BP. Our results suggest that dupilumab, association with high-potency topical steroids, could rapidly effective various clinical forms BP seems well tolerated elderly.
Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) significantly impacts women's sexual health and desire for children. Our nationwide study in France reveals that over one-third of women with HS face substantial challenges fulfilling their pregnancy desires, emotional burdens often overlooked medical consultations. Enhanced counseling systematic evaluation are essential to address these gaps care.
Significance Taking advantage of two markers critically associated with ATP metabolism, CD39 ectonucleotidase and the adenosine deaminase binding factor CD26, we found that natural regulatory T cells (nTregs) are heterogenous, composed five major structurally genetically distinct cell subsets, each representing a stage nTreg maturation. Three outcomes foreseeable from these studies: ( i ) immunologically, microenvironmental factors dictate developmental evolution govern their functional...
Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) are new therapies used for solid and hematologic cancers.1,2 They induce activation of CD4 CD8 cells that target tumor may unidentified cutaneous antigens, resulting in an inflammatory process after cross-reaction with normal antigens immune-related adverse events.3 Skin toxicity seems to be higher monoclonal antibody targeting the cytotoxic T-lymphocyte–associated antigen-4 (CTLA-4) compared programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1).
Cutaneous involvement of chronic graft-versus-host disease (cGVHD) has a wide range manifestations including lichenoid form with currently assumed mixed Th1/Th17 signature and sclerotic Th1 signature. Despite substantial heterogeneity innate adaptive immune cells recruited to the skin different clinical manifestations, treatment depends mainly on severity relies systemic, high-dose glucocorticoids alone or in combination calcineurin inhibitor. We performed first study using RNA sequencing...
Abstract Background While some information on psoriasis impact pregnancy is available, very little known the preoccupations of women afflicted by disease or dermatologists’ (D) positioning as to and pregnancy. The ‘Objectifs Peau’ project demonstrated a 4.7% prevalence in aged 18–45 years France. Objective This sought further address these issues view targeted action plan. Methods A questionnaire was made available 361 D different types. Results Overall, 152 answered questionnaire, 50.7%...
