Abstract COVID-19 was declared a pandemic on March 11 by WHO, due to its great threat global public health. The coronavirus main protease (M pro , also called 3CLpro) is essential for processing and maturation of the viral polyprotein, therefore recognized as an attractive drug target. Here we show that clinically approved anti-HCV drug, Boceprevir, pre-clinical inhibitor against feline infectious peritonitis (corona) virus (FIPV), GC376, both efficaciously inhibit SARS-CoV-2 in Vero cells...

In plants, transcriptional regulation is the most important tool for modulating flavonoid biosynthesis. The AtMYB12 gene from Arabidopsis thaliana has been shown to regulate expression of key enzyme genes involved in biosynthesis, leading increased accumulation flavonoids. this study, codon-optimized was chemically synthesized. Subcellular localization analysis onion epidermal cells indicated that localized nucleus. Its overexpression significantly flavonoids and enhanced salt drought...

The outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has developed into an unprecedented global pandemic. Nucleoside analogs, such as Remdesivir and Favipiravir, can serve the first-line broad-spectrum antiviral drugs by targeting viral polymerases. However, underlying mechanisms for efficacies these are far from well understood. Here, we reveal that a pyrazine derivative, could be incorporated RNA products mimicking both adenine guanine nucleotides. This drug thus...

SARS-CoV (the SARS-Associated Coronavirus) was reported as a novel virus member in the coronavirus family, which cause of severe acute respiratory syndrome. Coronavirus replication occurs through unique mechanism employing Leader sequence transcripts when initiating transcription from genome. Therefore, we cloned SARS-CoV(BJ01), is identical to that identified SARS-CoV(HKU-39849), and constructed specific siRNA targeting sequence. Using EGFP RFP reporter genes fused with sequence,...

Since 2013, H7N9 avian influenza viruses (AIVs) have caused more than 1,600 human infections, posing a threat to public health. An emerging concern is whether AIVs will cause pandemics among humans. Molecular analysis of hemagglutinin (HA), which critical determinant interspecies transmission, shows that the current are still dual-receptor tropic, indicating limited human-to-human transmission potency. Mutagenesis and structural studies reveal G186V substitution sufficient for acquire...

ABSTRACT The neuraminidase stalk of the newly emerged H7N9 influenza virus possesses a 5-amino-acid deletion. This study focuses on characterizing biological functions with varied lengths. Results indicate that deletion had no impact infectivity or replication in vitro vivo compared to full-length stalk, but enhanced virulence mice was observed for encoding 19- 20-amino-acid deletion, suggesting N9 length impacts mammals, as N1 does.
