A new photothermal coupling agent for ablation (PTA) therapy of tumors is developed based on ultrathin PEGylated W18O49 nanowires. After being injected with the nanowire solution, in vivo exhibit a rapid temperature rise to 50.0 ± 0.5 °C upon irradiation NIR laser light at safe, low intensity (0.72 W cm(-2)) 2 min (left-hand mouse figure),), resulting efficient PTA cancer cells 10 min.

Alzheimer's disease is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by decline in cognitive function. The β-amyloid (Aβ) hypothesis suggests that Aβ peptides can spontaneously aggregate into β-fragment-containing oligomers and protofibrils, this activation of the amyloid pathway alters Ca2+ signaling neurons, leading to neurotoxicity thus apoptosis neuronal cells. In our study, blood-brain barrier crossing flavonol glycoside hyperoside was identified with anti-Aβ aggregation, BACE inhibitory,...

Although immunotherapy has revolutionized clinical cancer treatment, the efficacy is limited due to lack of tumor-associated antigens (TAAs) and presence compensatory immune checkpoints. To overcome deficiency, a nano-system loaded with ozone CD47 inhibitor RRx-001 designed synthesized. Upon irradiation, reactive oxygen species (ROS) generated from reacts nitric oxide (NO) metabolized form nitrogen (RNS), which presents much stronger cell-killing ability than ROS. Molecular mechanism studies...

Exosomes are nano-extracellular vesicles with diameters ranging from 30 to 150 nm, which secreted by the cell. With their role in drug cargo loading, exosomes have been applied carry compounds across blood-brain barrier order target central nervous system (CNS). In this study, high-purity isolated ultra-high-speed separation method were as natural compound carrier, loading efficiency confirmed UHPLC-MS analysis. Through optimization of various methods using exosomes, study compared different...

The incidence of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is increasing with age. DNA fragments known to accumulate in certain autoimmune diseases, but the mechanistic relationship among ageing, and RA pathogenesis remain unexplored. Here we show that accumulation fragments, age regulated by exonuclease TREX1, promotes abnormal activation immune system an adjuvant-induced (AIA) rat model. Local overexpression TREX1 suppresses synovial inflammation rats, while conditional genomic deletion AIA rats result...

Metabolic syndrome (MS) could be associated with liver function. Our study aimed to investigate the association between function and MS in a large cohort of Chinese men women. We enrolled 32,768 ostensibly healthy participants. The associations both genders were analyzed separately after dividing total bilirubin (TBIL), gamma glutamyltransferase (GGT), alanine aminotransferase (ALT) into quartiles. Young males had significantly higher prevalence than females, yet menopause, females...

Safe and efficacious antiviral therapeutics are in urgent need for the treatment of coronavirus disease 2019. Simnotrelvir is a selective 3C-like protease inhibitor that can effectively inhibit severe acute respiratory syndrome 2 (SARS-CoV-2). We evaluated safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics dose escalations simnotrelvir alone or with ritonavir (simnotrelvir simnotrelvir/ritonavir) healthy subjects, as well food effect (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT05339646). The overall incidence...

Drug resistance in cancer has been classified as innate or acquired resistance, which were characterized by apoptotic defects and ABC transporters overexpression respectively. Therefore, to preclude reverse these mechanisms could be a promising strategy improve chemotherapeutic outcomes. In this study, natural product from Osage Orange, pomiferin, was identified novel autophagy activator that circumvents triggering autophagic cell death via SERCA inhibition activation of the CaMKKβ-AMPK-mTOR...

T cells play a pivotal role in the development of autoimmune diseases. To mitigate inflammation without inducing global immunosuppression, it is crucial to selectively eliminate autoreactive cell clones while preserving normal repertoire. In this study, we applied cellular proximity chemistry develop T‐cell depletion method with clonal precision. Using engineered dendritic (DCs) surface‐bound photosensitizers, generated reactive oxygen species (ROS) at immune synapses, leading targeted death...

Numerous recovered COVID-19 patients exhibit persistent cardiovascular symptoms. However, the degree of myocardial dysfunction and its associated risk factors remain unclear. This study aims to evaluate in pinpoint predictors We reviewed echocardiograms who from mild or moderate presented with symptoms during Omicron surge. Myocardial strain was analyzed 546 before after infection, 351 prepandemic healthy controls. Clinical follow-up at 12 months post-infection used evaluated symptom...
