Identification of lobar spontaneous intracerebral haemorrhage associated with cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) is important because it a higher risk recurrent than arteriolosclerosis-associated haemorrhage. We aimed to develop prediction model for the identification CAA-associated using CT features and genotype.

Patients with stroke due to spontaneous (non-traumatic) intracerebral haemorrhage (ICH) are at risk of recurrent ICH, ischaemic stroke, and other serious vascular events. We aimed analyse these risks in population-based studies compare them the RESTART, which assessed antiplatelet therapy after ICH.

Findings from the RESTART trial suggest that starting antiplatelet therapy might reduce risk of recurrent symptomatic intracerebral haemorrhage compared with avoiding therapy. Brain imaging features and cerebral small vessel diseases (such as microbleeds) are associated greater risks haemorrhage. We did subgroup analyses to explore whether these brain modify effects

Importance
The Restart or Stop Antithrombotics Randomized Trial (RESTART) found that antiplatelet therapy appeared to be safe up 5 years after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) had occurred during antithrombotic (antiplatelet anticoagulant) therapy.
Objectives
To monitor adherence, increase duration of follow-up, and improve precision estimates the effects on recurrent ICH major vascular events.
Design, Setting Participants
From May 22, 2013, through 31, 2018, this...

Medical smartphone applications are increasingly popular amongst doctors. However, the quality of their content is variable. We assessed contemporary radiology-related applications, focussing on level advertised medical involvement in application development.Six major stores were searched between 18-30 June 2012 using terms radiology, radiation, x-ray(s), computed tomography/CT, magnetic resonance imaging/MRI, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, fluoroscopy and mammography/mammogram. CT angiography (CTA) is often used for assessing patients with acute ischaemic stroke. Only limited observer reliability data exist. We tested inter- and intra-observer the assessment of CTA in stroke. We selected 15 cases from Third International Stroke Trial (IST-3, ISRCTN25765518) various degrees arterial obstruction different intracranial locations on CTA. To assess inter-observer reliability, seven members IST-3 expert image reading panel (>5 years experience CTA) radiology trainees (<2...

Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is sub-optimally managed for many in Aotearoa New Zealand, and disproportionately affects Māori Pacific peoples. In February 2021, SGLT2i/GLP1RA agents were funded use the first time with prioritisation Māori, those cardiovascular and/or renal disease or risk (CVRD). This study evaluates impact of health system factors on initiation therapy. Primary care data was collected patients T2D aged 18–75 years from four primary organisations (302 general practices) Auckland /...

There are increasing opportunities for junior doctors to deliver teaching as well formally develop skills. Near-peer (NPT) programmes, like that established in South-East Scotland, not only provide additional learning students but also have potential benefits the teachers.Achieving multiple competencies required of both medical school and foundation programme poses significant challenges. Medical reduced exposure bedside teaching, which may be contributing concerns raised regarding clinical...

Objective To determine whether the presence of diffusion-weighted imaging-positive (DWI+) lesions is associated with recurrent stroke after intracerebral haemorrhage (ICH). Methods The REstart or STop Antithrombotics Randomised Trial (RESTART) assessed effect restarting versus avoiding antiplatelet therapy ICH on major vascular events for up to 5 years. We rated DWI sequences MRI done before randomisation DWI+ lesion presence, masked outcome and use. Cox proportional hazards regression...
