Abstract Background Prurigo nodularis (PN), a chronic inflammatory skin condition, adversely affects the quality of life affected individuals. Current treatment options for PN in Japan are limited. Objectives To evaluate optimal dose, efficacy and safety long-term with nemolizumab patients Japan. Methods In 16-week double-blind phase II/III study, aged ≥ 13 years were randomly assigned (1 : 1 1) to 30-mg, 60-mg or placebo groups, concomitant topical corticosteroids, every 4 weeks. The...

Ambient humidity, temperature, and ozone influence the viability of airborne viruses, but their synergistic effects are poorly understood, particularly regarding with humidity/temperature changes. Therefore, we examined inactivation influenza viruses coronaviruses under combinations low ambient concentrations, relative humidity (RH) levels, temperatures typical daily life. Viral fluid was atomized in a closed chamber conditioned different these factors. The aerosol particles containing virus...

The catalytic function of plant secondary product glycosyltransferases (PSPGs) was investigated by coupling the activities recombinant flavonoid glucosyltransferases having different regiospecificities with sucrose synthase from Arabidopsis thaliana . In present system, UDP, a inhibitor PSPGs, removed reaction mixture and used for regeneration UDP‐glucose AtSUS1. in situ system not only enhanced glucosylation efficiency but also unraveled novel regioselectivity PSPGs. effect shown to be...

Background/Aim: CBP is a transcriptional coactivator in the Wnt/β-catenin pathway that related to cell kinetics and differentiation. This study aimed characterize β-catenin-activated hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) evaluate direct effects of PRI-724 (a selective inhibitor Wnt/β-catenin/CBP signaling) on HCC. Materials Methods: Immunohistochemistry for β-catenin was performed 199 HCC resected samples. Moreover, using cultured lines, its proteins were analyzed after treatment cells with C-82...

Al alloy sheet was friction stir spot welded (FSSW) to galvanised steel by a scroll grooved tool without probe. Tensile and fatigue tests had been conducted using tensile shear specimens, the results were discussed in comparison with Al/steel dissimilar FSSW joint, which not galvanised. Energy dispersive X-ray analyses revealed that Zn coating melted or softened circumferentially resolidified around nugget. Intermetallic compound between Fe formed along interface resulting joining of steel....

Anti-PD-1 immunotherapies enhance T-cell responses against tumor cells by blocking the interaction between PD-1 and its ligand, PD-L1. While these therapies offer significant benefits in treating various malignancies, they can also lead to several immune-related adverse events (irAEs), most notably manifesting skin. Lichenoid reactions, eczema, vitiligo are three prevalent forms of cutaneous irAE.

Thin films of bismuth layer-structured dielectrics (BLSDs), CaBi 4 Ti O 15 , and SrBi were prepared by a chemical solution deposition (CSD) technique on various substrates, such as (111)Pt/TiO 2 /(100)Si, (100)LaNiO 3 /(111)Pt/TiO (100)SrRuO ∥(100)SrTiO substrates. Conductive perovskite oxide LaNiO with (100) preferential crystal orientation was introduced into the interface between BLSD film /(100)Si substrate to control lattice matching pseudo-perovskite blocks in plane structure. The (00...

Abstract Senile lentigo or age spots are hyperpigmented macules of skin that commonly develop following long-term exposure to ultraviolet radiation. This condition is caused by accumulation large numbers melanosomes (melanin granules) produced melanocytes within neighboring keratinocytes. However, there still no consensus regarding the melanosome transfer mechanism in senile lentigo. To date, most pathohistological studies have been two-dimensional and do not provide detailed data on complex...

We examined the effect of whisky congeners, substances other than ethanol in whisky, on melanogenesis mouse B16 melanoma cells. Treatment with congeners significantly blocked melanogenesis. Our results indicate that inhibitory effects is due to direct inhibition tyrosinase activity and suppression protein levels.

Abstract Granulocyte and monocyte adsorption apheresis (GMA) is usually performed weekly (consisting of five sessions) for refractory skin diseases, such as generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP). The time to remission inflammatory bowel diseases has been reported be significantly shorter in intensive GMA (twice a week) than regular (once week). Despite several reports GPP cases treated with GMA, the efficacy not verified GPP. Herein, we present two patients mutation IL36RN gene, who initially...
