ABSTRACT Bats are natural hosts for a large variety of zoonotic viruses. This study aimed to describe the range bat viromes, including viruses from mammals, insects, fungi, plants, and phages, in 11 insectivorous species (216 bats total) common six provinces China. To analyze we used sequence-independent PCR amplification next-generation sequencing technology (Solexa Genome Analyzer II; Illumina). The viromes were identified by sequence similarity comparisons known mammalian included those...

Rodents represent around 43% of all mammalian species, are widely distributed, and the natural reservoirs a diverse group zoonotic viruses, including hantaviruses, Lassa tick-borne encephalitis viruses. Thus, analyzing viral diversity harbored by rodents could assist efforts to predict reduce risk future emergence diseases. We used next-generation sequencing metagenomic analysis survey for range families in other small animals orders Rodentia, Lagomorpha, Soricomorpha China. We sampled 3,055...

Abstract Shotgun metagenomics has become a pivotal technology in microbiome research, enabling in‐depth analysis of microbial communities at both the high‐resolution taxonomic and functional levels. This approach provides valuable insights diversity, interactions, their roles health disease. However, complexity data processing need for reproducibility pose significant challenges to researchers. To address these challenges, we developed EasyMetagenome, user‐friendly pipeline that supports...

Detection of pathogens by plants is mediated intracellular nucleotide-binding site leucine-rich repeat (NLR) receptor proteins. NLR proteins are defined their stereotypical multidomain structure: an N-terminal Toll-interleukin (TIR) or coiled-coil (CC) domain, a central (NB) and C-terminal (LRR). The plant innate immune system contains limited repertoire that functions to recognize all potential pathogens. We isolated Response the bacterial type III effector protein HopBA1 (RBA1), gene...

To clarify the evolutionary relationships among betavoronaviruses that infect bats, we analyzed samples collected during 2010-2011 from 14 insectivorous bat species in China. We identified complete genomes of 2 novel betacoronaviruses Rhinolophus pusillus and Chaerephon plicata which showed close genetic with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronaviruses.

Several lineage B betacoronaviruses termed severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS)–like CoVs (SL-CoVs) were identified from Rhinolophus bats in China. These viruses are characterized by a set of unique accessory open reading frames (ORFs) that located between the M and N genes. Among ORFs, ORF8 is most hypervariable. In this study, ORF8s all SL-CoVs classified into 3 types, and, for first time, it was found very few sinicus have identical to human SARS-CoV. This finding provides new genetic...
