Abstract The development of biomedical glues is an important, yet challenging task as seemingly mutually exclusive properties need to be combined in one material, i.e. strong adhesion and adaption remodeling processes healing tissue. Here, we report a biocompatible biodegradable protein-based adhesive with high strengths. maximum strength reaches 16.5 ± 2.2 MPa on hard substrates, which comparable that commercial cyanoacrylate superglue higher than other adhesives by at least order...
High-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) is one of the most common epithelial malignancies. tRNA-derived fragments (tRFs) have been identified as novel potential biomarkers and targets for therapy. Nevertheless, influence tRFs on HGSOC remains unknown. This study aimed to identify HGSOC-associated investigate function mechanism key in SK-OV-3 cells. The tRF profiles patients controls were investigated using small RNA sequencing. Differentially expressed verified by real-time PCR, a was...
Electrical coupling of neurons is widespread throughout the CNS and observed among retinal photoreceptors from essentially all vertebrates. Coupling dampens voltage noise in rod–cone provides a means for rod signals to enter cone pathway, extending dynamic range rod-mediated vision. This dynamically regulated by circadian rhythm light adaptation. We examined molecular mechanism that controls photoreceptor zebrafish retina. Connexin 35 (homologous Cx36 mammals) was found at both cone–cone gap...
G-quadruplexes are higher-order DNA and RNA structures formed from G-rich sequences that built around tetrads of hydrogen-bonded guanine bases. There is considerable interest in the design ligands target G-quadruplex because their potential anticancer activity. We designed a fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) system to identify molecules stabilize homogeneous medium using unmodified gold nanoparticles (GNPs) as quencher. The assay exploits different adsorption abilities GNPs for...
Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) is a natural lipid-derived molecule that involved in important physiological functions. Abnormal PGE2 signalling has been associated with pathologies of the nervous system. Previous studies provide evidence for interaction and canonical Wnt pathways non-neuronal cells. Since pathway crucial development organization brain, main goal this study to determine whether collaboration between these exists neuronal cell types. We report interacts through PKA PI-3K...
DNA-based gels are attractive materials as they allow intuitive rational design, respond to external physicochemical stimuli, and show great potential for biomedical applications. However, their relatively poor mechanical properties currently limit technological application considerably the latter requires integrity tunability. With this work, a DNA organogel is reported that through supramolecular interactions, which induce mesophase ordering, exhibits exceptional stretchability,...
Abstract Electrical coupling of photoreceptors through gap junctions suppresses voltage noise, routes rod signals into cone pathways, expands the dynamic range in high scotopic and mesopic illumination, improves detection contrast small stimuli. In essentially all vertebrates, connexin 35/36 (gene homologs Cx36 mammals, Cx35 other vertebrates) is major junction protein observed photoreceptors, mediating rod–cone, cone–cone, possibly rod–rod communication. Photoreceptor dynamically controlled...
Collagen triple helix repeat containing-1 (CTHRC1), a secreted glycoprotein, is frequently upregulated in human cancers. However, the functional role of CTHRC1 renal cell carcinoma (RCC) remains unclear. Thus, aim this study was to explore RCC. Our results demonstrated that RCC tissues and lines. Knockdown significantly inhibits proliferation RCCs. Furthermore, knockdown inhibited epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) process RCCs, as well suppressed migration invasion. Mechanistically,...
Abstract Safety and efficacy, two significant parameters in drug administration, can be improved by site‐specific delivery approaches. Here a fast, efficient, targeted liposome system steered DNA hybridization recognition mechanism is presented. For this purpose, lipid‐terminated inserted both cell membranes simple mixing of the components. Cellular accumulation cargo encapsulated liposomal core substantially enhanced when sequence on complementary to that liposome. Additionally, mixed...
Radiotherapy has been focused mainly on killing cancer cells, and little attention paid to the process supporting tumor growth metastasis, including of angiogenesis. To investigate effects carbon-ion irradiation angiogenesis in lung we examined expression vascular endothelial factor basic fibroblast conditioned medium (TCM) A549 cells exposed or X-ray irradiation, as well cell growth, invasion, tube formation induced by TCM. No changes secretion were detected TCM at 2 4 Gy, whereas 1 Gy...
DNA hybridization provides a simple and generalizable strategy to enhance the cellular internalization of nanostructures.
ABSTRACT With the rapid development of aquaculture, more and fish species from wild environments are artificially domesticated cultured. In process domestication, develop some adaptations phenotypic traits, namely selection signatures. However, it is still unclear about biological underlying these Here, we used grass carp ( Ctenopharyngodon idellus ), an aquaculture with largest production worldwide, to detect its signatures investigate roles DNA methylation in emergence during domestication...
The composition of urinary metabolites can reflect the physiological state animals. Investigating alterations in urine metabolomics during estrus stage provide valuable insights for enhancing efficacy monitoring. This study aimed to perform an analysis female giant pandas, specifically examining variations specific across different estrous stages, namely, diestrus, proestrus, estrus, and metestrus. A total 1234 were identified positive ion mode from 76 samples 19 individuals, with 643...
Abstract Novel 1,3‐dioxolane C‐nucleoside analogues of tiazofurin 2‐(2‐hydroxymethyl‐1,3‐dioxolan‐4‐yl)‐l,3‐thiazole‐4‐carboxamide as well N ‐nucleoside substituted imidazoles 1‐(2‐hydroxymethyl‐1,3‐dioxolan‐4‐yl)‐4‐nitroimidazole and 1‐(2‐hydroxymethyl‐1,3‐dioxolan‐4‐yl)‐4,5‐dicyanoimidazole were synthesized from methyl acrylate through a multistep procedure. Their structures confirmed by IR, 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR spectra elemental analysis.
