A well 6-month-old infant with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) had persistently positive nasopharyngeal swabs up to day 16 of admission. This case highlights the difficulties in establishing true incidence COVID-19, as asymptomatic individuals can excrete virus. These patients may play important roles human-to-human transmission community.

Abstract Transmission risk of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in schools is unknown. Our investigations, especially preschools, could not detect SARS-CoV-2 transmission despite screening symptomatic and asymptomatic children. The data suggest that children are the primary drivers help inform exit strategies for lifting lockdowns.

Data on burden of invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) are lacking from Southeast Asia. With the introduction higher-valency conjugate vaccines (PCVs), we aim to assess impact PCV into Singapore's National Childhood Immunisation Schedule (NCIS) IPD and serotype replacement. Using surveillance data a single center, compared incidence in children aged <17 years before after NCIS (2000-2009, period 1; 2010-2023, 2). The overall 2000 2023 was 3.9 per 100 000 children. decline between periods 1 2...

Abstract Background Admission hypothermia (AH, < 36.5℃) remains a major challenge for global neonatal survival, especially in developing countries. Baseline research shows nearly 89.3% of very low birth weight (VLBW, 1500 g) infants suffer from AH China. Therefore, prospective multicentric quality improvement (QI) initiative to reduce regional and improve outcomes among VLBW neonates was implemented. Methods The study used sequential Plan—Do—Study—Act (PDSA) approach. Clinical data were...

Given the significant decline in vaccine efficacy against Omicron, development of novel vaccines with specific or broad-spectrum effectiveness is paramount. In this study, we formulated four monovalent based on recombinant spike trimer proteins, along three bivalent vaccines, and five proteins. We evaluated different vaccination regimens eliciting neutralizing antibodies mice through pseudovirus neutralization assays. Following two doses primary immunization D614G, received subsequent...
