We had reported that the systemic administration of N omega-methyl-L-arginine (L-NMA), a specific inhibitor nitric oxide (NO) synthesis from L-arginine (ARG), raises arterial blood pressure (BP) while paradoxically enhancing central sympathetic outflow. Cervical spinal cord transection abolishes increase in outflow and attenuates pressor effect L-NMA. Thus, addition to lowering BP by direct vasorelaxation, NO may also act nervous system reduce vascular tone. To test this hypothesis we have...

Oncostatin M (OSM) is a member of the IL-6 family cytokines. Mice deficient in OSM receptor (OSMR -/- ) showed impaired liver regeneration with persistent parenchymal necrosis after carbon tetrachloride (CCl 4 exposure. The recovery mass from partial hepatectomy was also significantly delayed OSMR mice. In contrast to wildtype mice, CCl administration only marginally induced expression tissue inhibitor metalloproteinase (TIMP)-1 and TIMP-2 genes correlating increased gelatinase activity...

Protein S is a vitamin K dependent protein whose inherited deficiency well recognized risk factor for venous thrombosis. Its role to act as activated C cofactor in Va and VIIIa proteolysis, thus restricting thrombin generation. gene lies on chromosome 3, at position 3p11.1-q11.2, its structural organization has been described. Elucidation of the defects responsible proceeding rapidly. A first record identified mutations was undertaken 1996 under auspices International Society Thrombosis...

To evaluate the influence of cortical and cancellous bone structure on biomechanical properties all-suture conventional anchors compare morphological damage after their failure. The hypothesis study is that anchor pullout less invasive force influenced by thickness.Thirty human humeri were biomechanically tested as follows: starting with a load cycle from 20 to 50 N, stepwise increase upper peak 0.05 N for each at rate 1 Hz was performed. Analysis included maximum strength three different...

The beneficial effects of fatty acids (FAs) on human health have attracted widespread interest. However, little is known about the impact FAs handling urate, end-product purine metabolism, in body. Increased serum urate levels occur hyperuricemia, a disease that can lead to gout. In humans, filtered by glomerulus kidney majorly re-absorbed from primary urine into blood via transporter 1 (URAT1)-mediated pathway. URAT1 inhibition, thus, contributes decreasing concentration increasing net...

Hyperuricemia, a lifestyle-related disease characterized by elevated serum urate levels, is the main risk factor for gout; therefore, urate-lowering effects of human diets or dietary ingredients have attracted widespread interest. As Urate transporter 1 (URAT1) governs most reabsorption from primary urine into blood, URAT1 inhibition helps decrease levels increasing net renal excretion. In this study, we used cell-based transport assay to investigate URAT1-inhibitory 162 extracts plant...

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a chronic degenerative musculoskeletal disease that causes articular cartilage degeneration and pain. Research into OA animal models suggests elevated NGF levels in the synovium contribute to pain central sensitization (CS). However, it unclear whether synovial contributes CS patients with OA. Black soybeans have been used as a food source and also in traditional medicine because their seed coats contain natural phenolic compounds such proanthocyanidin anthocyanin. The objective of this research is to reveal the genetic variation compound contents (PCCs) 227 black soybean cultivars, most which were Japanese landraces cultivars. Total phenolics extracted from using an acidic acetone reagent content, monomeric anthocyanin total flavonoids radical scavenging activity measured....

A method for the synthesis of 3-methylene-1,4-cycloheptadiene derivatives via an 8π electrocyclization reaction was developed. The triene substrate bearing a phosphate or carbamate group prepared from γ,δ-unsaturated esters and α,β-unsaturated aldehydes in four steps. Upon treatment with NaHMDS KHMDS, formed heptatrienyl anion, which underwent subsequent β-elimination leaving group. product could be converted into tropylium salt two

A new synthetic strategy that forms a seven-membered carbocycle using an anionic 8π electrocyclic reaction facilitated the first total synthesis of 6,11-epoxyisodaucane natural sesquiterpene in 9.0% yield over 10 steps longest linear sequence. The misassigned proposed stereochemistry was corrected by both structure and its C6 epimer. In addition, 5-7-fused ring system concisely constructed tandem decyanation/five-membered-ring formation from epoxynitrile.
