BackgroundThe chest CT findings of patients with 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) pneumonia have not previously been described in detail.PurposeTo investigate the clinical, laboratory, and imaging emerging 2019-nCoV humans.Materials MethodsFifty-one (25 men 26 women; age range 16-76 years) laboratory-confirmed infection by using real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction underwent thin-section CT. The findings, clinical data, laboratory data were evaluated.ResultsFifty 51...
Rationale: Some patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) rapidly develop respiratory failure or even die, underscoring the need for early identification of at elevated risk severe illness. This study aims to quantify pneumonia lesions by computed tomography (CT) in days predict progression illness a cohort COVID-19 patients. Methods: This retrospective included confirmed patients.Three quantitative CT features were automatically calculated using artificial intelligence algorithms,...
Objective Computed tomography (CT) provides rich diagnosis and severity information of COVID‐19 in clinical practice. However, there is no computerized tool to automatically delineate infection regions chest CT scans for quantitative assessment advanced applications such as prediction. The aim this study was develop a deep learning (DL)‐based method automatic segmentation quantification well the entire lungs from scans. Methods DL‐based employs “VB‐Net” neural network segment developed...
Despite the death rate of COVID-19 is less than 3%, fatality severe/critical cases high, according to World Health Organization (WHO). Thus, screening before symptom occurs effectively saves medical resources.
The intricate relationship between resistant starch (RS) and the gut microbiome presents a dynamic frontier in nutrition science. This review synthesizes current understandings of how RS, an indigestible form found naturally certain foods also enhanced through various modification methods, interacts with microbiome. We particularly focus on RS fermentation colon contributes to production beneficial volatile fatty acids (VFAs) such as butyrate, acetate, propionate. These VFAs have been...
The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) epidemic has been almost controlled in China under a series of policies, including "early diagnosis and early treatment". This study aimed to explore the association between treatment with Qingfei Paidu decoction (QFPDD) favorable clinical outcomes. In this retrospective multicenter study, we included 782 patients (males, 56 %; median age 46) confirmed COVID-19 from 54 hospitals nine provinces China, who were divided into four groups according...
Abstract Background The integration of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) into emergency health systems in China serves as a model for global policy development and refining the inclusion emergencies. Methods This study investigated 13 public policies related to TCM released by central government from 2003–2023. A PMC(Policy Modeling Consistency) index was developed combining ROSTCM text mining analysis software. contents these documents were quantitatively assessed using 10 first- 40...
Treatments for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) are limited by suboptimal efficacy. From January 30, 2020 to March 23, 2020, we conducted a non-randomised controlled trial, in which all adult patients with laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 were assigned three groups non-randomly and given supportive treatments: Group A, Lopinavir-Ritonavir; B, Huashi Baidu Formula (a Chinese medicineformula made the China Academy of Medical Sciences treat COVID-19, is now clinical trial period) C, Formula....
In order to determine acute cardiac involvement in patients with COVID-19, we quantitatively evaluated tissue characteristics and mechanics by non-invasive magnetic resonance (CMR) a cohort of within the first 10 days onset COVID symptoms.Twenty-five reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction confirmed COVID-19 at least one marker [cardiac symptoms, abnormal electrocardiograph (ECG), or biomarkers] 25 healthy age- gender-matched control subjects were recruited study. Patients divided...
Background: Novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) is often changing rapidly and fatal. Early detection early triage of disease 2019 (Covid-19) the key to success management disease. An easily obtainable yet accurate variable for both diagnosis prognosis urgently needed. We aim report predictive Value Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio(NLR) worse clinical course COVID-19, which have not been well demonstrated. Methods: Our study consisted two stages, at first stage, a retrospective, single-center,...
Background: Previous research suggested that Chinese Medicine (CM) Formula Huashibaidu granule might shorten the disease course in coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) patients. This aimed to investigate early treatment effect of well-managed patients with mild COVID-19. Methods: An unblinded cluster-randomized clinical trial was conducted at Dongxihu FangCang hospital. Two cabins were randomly allocated a CM or control group, 204 COVID-19 participants each cabin. All received conventional over 7 day...
Abstract Integrated traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and Western (WM) is a new medical science grounded in the knowledge bases of both TCM WM, which then forms unique modern system China. WM has long history China, made important achievements process clinical diagnosis treatment. However, methodological defects currently published practice guidelines limit its development. The organic integration deeper WM. To realize progression "integration" to "organic integration", targeted...
ABSTRACT Objective To explore patients' perceptions and attitudes towards patient guidelines (PGs) to identify specific factors related PG content, design, presentation, management that may influence use or adoption of PGs. Methods An exploratory sequential mixed‐methods design was employed. Initial semi‐structured interviews were conducted with a diverse group individuals, including people diabetes oncology, clinicians. These analysed through directed content analysis. Findings from the...
Large language models (LLMs) have the potential to enhance evidence synthesis efficiency and accuracy. This study assessed LLM-only LLM-assisted methods in data extraction risk of bias assessment for 107 trials on complementary medicine. Moonshot-v1-128k Claude-3.5-sonnet achieved high accuracy (≥95%), with performing better (≥97%). significantly reduced processing time (14.7 5.9 min vs. 86.9 10.4 conventional methods). These findings highlight LLMs' when integrated human expertise.
