Maternal obesity is associated with increased risks of gestational diabetes, large-for-gestational-age infants, preterm birth, congenital malformations, and stillbirth. The these outcomes among women who have undergone bariatric surgery are unclear. We identified 627,693 singleton pregnancies in the Swedish Medical Birth Register from 2006 through 2011, which 670 occurred had previously for whom presurgery weight was documented. For each pregnancy after surgery, up to five control were...
To investigate Swedish women's level of antenatal fear childbirth at various gestational ages, and factors associated with intense preference for cesarean section.A cross-sectional study. All clinics in four geographical areas.Thousand six hundred thirty-five pregnant women ages recruited during September-October 2006.A questionnaire completed the clinic. The reported their appraisal approaching delivery according to Wijma Delivery Expectancy/Experience Questionnaire (W-DEQ).The preferred...
To study the risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes in women with polycystic ovary syndrome, taking into account maternal characteristics and assisted reproductive technology.Population based cohort study.Singleton births registered Swedish medical birth register between 1995 2007.By linkage patient register, 3787 among a diagnosis syndrome 1,191,336 without such diagnosis.Risk (gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia, preterm birth, stillbirth, neonatal death, low Apgar score (<7 at five minutes),...

Main outcome measures Gestational diabetes, pre‐eclampsia, prematurity, stillbirth. Results Intrahepatic was diagnosed 0.32–0.58% all pregnancies, an...
Objective To assess whether maternal use of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) increases the risk persistent pulmonary hypertension in newborn, and such an effect might differ between specific SSRIs. Design Population based cohort study using data from national health registers. Setting Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, 1996-2007. Participants More than 1.6 million infants born after gestational week 33. Main outcome measures Risks...
Objective To estimate the risks of major congenital malformations in offspring mothers who are underweight (body mass index (BMI) <18.5), overweight (BMI 25 to <30), or obesity classes I 30 <35), II (35 <40), III (≥40) compared with normal weight 18.5 <25) early pregnancy. Design Population based cohort study. Setting Nationwide Swedish registries. Participants 1 243 957 liveborn singleton infants from 2001 2014 Sweden. Data on...
Importance Since 2004-2007, national guidelines and recommendations have been developed for the management of extremely preterm births in Sweden. If how more uniform has affected infant survival is unknown. Objective To compare infants born during 2004-2007 with 2014-2016. Design, Setting Participants All at 22-26 weeks’ gestational age (n = 2205) between April 1, 2004, March 31, 2007, January 2014, December 2016, Sweden were studied. Prospective data collection was used 2004-2007. Data...
Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP) is the most common liver disease in pregnancy. We aimed to estimate risk developing hepatobiliary women with ICP and odds prevalent disease. analyzed data births between 1973 2009 registered Swedish Medical Birth Register. By linkage Patient Register, we identified 11,388 who were matched 113,893 without this diagnosis. Diagnoses preexisting or later obtained from Main outcome measures hazard ratios (HRs) for (ORs) Risk estimates calculated through...

Importance
The outcomes of newborn infants women testing positive for SARS-CoV-2 in pregnancy is unclear.
Objective
To evaluate neonatal relation to maternal test positivity pregnancy.
Design, Setting, and Participants
Nationwide, prospective cohort study based on linkage the Swedish Pregnancy Register, Neonatal Quality Register Communicable Diseases. Ninety-two percent all live births Sweden between March 11, 2020, January 31, 2021, were investigated by 8, 2021....
Abstract Preterm birth (PTB) is the leading cause of infant mortality worldwide. Changes in PTB rates, ranging from −90% to +30%, were reported many countries following early COVID-19 pandemic response measures (‘lockdowns’). It unclear whether this variation reflects real differences lockdown impacts, or perhaps stillbirth rates and/or study designs. Here we present interrupted time series and meta-analyses using harmonized data 52 million births 26 countries, 18 which had representative...
Abstract Objective To assess long term neurodevelopmental outcomes of children born at different gestational ages, particularly 32-33 weeks (moderately preterm) and 34-36 (late preterm), compared with 39-40 (full term). Design Nationwide cohort study. Setting Sweden. Participants 1 281 690 liveborn singleton without congenital malformations 32 +0 to 41 +6 between 1998 2012. Importance Several studies suggest that acetaminophen (paracetamol) use during pregnancy may increase risk of neurodevelopmental disorders in children. Unique personal identity numbers were used link individual information different national registers. Exposure Administration any mRNA against pregnancy,...
BACKGROUNDEndometriosis, a common gynaecological disease, is characterized by local and systemic inflammation, which may cause infertility consequently, increased utilization of assisted reproduction technology (ART). We aimed to estimate the risk for preterm birth, small-for-gestational-age (SGA) stillbirth, Caesarean section, pre-eclampsia antepartal haemorrhage among women with previous diagnosis endometriosis compared no endometriosis.
Some causes of stillbirth may also lead to fetuses that are small for gestational age (have a low birth weight with respect their age) or delivered preterm (before 37 weeks gestation). It is not known whether the previous small-for-gestational-age infant increases subsequent risk stillbirth.
Preeclampsia is a leading cause of maternal and infant mortality morbidity worldwide. Both Swedish snuff cigarette smoke include nicotine, but combustion products accompany only smoking. The aims this study were to compare the effects smoking on preeclampsia risk estimate whether changes in tobacco habits during pregnancy affect developing term preeclampsia. We used information from Birth Register all singleton births Sweden years 1999–2006 (n=612 712). Compared with nontobacco users, women...
