Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) are approved for multiple cancers but can result in ICI-associated myocarditis, an infrequent life-threatening condition. Elevations cardiac biomarkers, specifically troponin-I (cTnI), troponin-T (cTnT), and creatine kinase (CK), used diagnosis. However, the association between temporal elevations of these biomarkers with disease trajectory outcomes has not been established.

Racial and social disparities exist in outcomes related to cancer cardiovascular disease (CVD). The aim of this cross-sectional study was the impact vulnerability on mortality attributed comorbid CVD. Centers for Disease Control Prevention Wide-Ranging Online Data Epidemiologic Research database (2015-2019) used obtain county-level data cancer, CVD, County-level index (SVI) (2014-2018) were obtained from CDC’s Agency Toxic Substances Registry. SVI percentiles generated each county aggregated...

With improved cancer survival, death from noncancer etiologies, especially cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality, has come more into focus. Little is known about the racial and ethnic disparities in all-cause CVD mortality among U.S. patients. This study sought to investigate adults with United States. Using Surveillance, Epidemiology, End Results (SEER) database years 2000 2018, patients ≥18 of age at time initial malignancy diagnosis were compared by race ethnicity groups. The 10 most...

Risk stratification strategies for cancer therapeutics-related cardiac dysfunction (CTRCD) rely on serial monitoring by specialized imaging, limiting their scalability. We aimed to examine an application of artificial intelligence (AI) ECG images as a surrogate imaging risk biomarkers and its association with early CTRCD. Across US-based health system (2013-2023), we identified 1550 patients (aged, 60 [interquartile range, 51-69] years, 1223 [78.9%] women) without cardiomyopathy who received...

Innovations in cardiac imaging have fundamentally advanced the understanding and treatment of cardiovascular disease. These advances noninvasive also expanded role imager dramatically increased demand for imagers who are cross-trained multiple modalities. However, we hypothesize that there is significant variation availability expertise a disparity adoption technologies across United States. To evaluate this, brought together leaders societies, trainees, as well collaborated with national...

Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have transformed cancer treatment, but ICI myocarditis (ICI-M) remains a potentially fatal complication. The clinical implications and predictors of left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) <50% in ICI-M are not well understood. aim this study was to identify factors associated with LVEF vs ≥50% at the time hospitalization for ICI-M. A secondary objective evaluate relationship between 30-day all-cause mortality. International ICI-Myocarditis Registry,...

Left atrial (LA) imaging is still not routinely used for diagnosis and risk stratification, although recent studies have emphasized its importance as an biomarker. Cardiovascular magnetic resonance able to evaluate LA structure function, metrics that serve early indicators of disease, provide prognostic information, e.g. regarding diastolic dysfunction, fibrillation (AF). MR angiography defines anatomy, useful planning ablation procedures, also characterizing shapes sizes might predict...

ABSTRACT Background Risk stratification strategies for cancer therapeutics-related cardiac dysfunction (CTRCD) rely on serial monitoring by specialized imaging, limiting their scalability. Objectives To examine an artificial intelligence (AI)-enhanced electrocardiographic (AI-ECG) surrogate imaging risk biomarkers, and its association with CTRCD. Methods Across a five-hospital U.S.-based health system (2013-2023), we identified patients breast or non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) who received...

Left atrial (LA) late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) on cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging is indicative of fibrosis, and has been correlated with reduced LA function, increased volume, poor procedural outcomes in cohorts fibrillation (AF). However, the role LGE as a prognostic biomarker for arrhythmia cardiac disease not examined. In this study, we assessed using 3D CMR sequence to examine its relationships new onset arrhythmia, left ventricular (LV) mechanical function. images...

Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) are highly effective in treating cancer; however, cardiotoxicity can occur, including myocarditis. Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging is useful for evaluation of myocarditis, although it has not been well studied ICI cardiotoxicity. We identified patients referred CMR from September 2015 through 2019. We assessed structural and functional parameters, feature tracking (FT) left ventricular atrial strain, T2- weighted ratios quantitative late gadolinium...
