We report on an exclusive and kinematically complete high-statistics measurement of the basic double-pionic fusion reaction pn→dπ(0)π(0) over full energy region ABC effect, a pronounced low-mass enhancement in ππ-invariant mass spectrum. The measurements, which cover also transition to conventional t-channel ΔΔ process, were performed with upgraded WASA detector setup at COSY. data reveal Abashian-Booth-Crowe effect be uniquely correlated Lorentzian dependence integral cross section....

A number of laser facilities coming online all over the world promise capability high-power experiments with shot repetition rates between 1 and 10 Hz. Target availability technical issues related to interaction environment could become a bottleneck for exploitation such facilities. In this paper, we report on target needs three different classes experiments: dynamic compression physics, electron transport isochoric heating, laser-driven particle radiation sources. We also review some most...

The differential and total cross sections for the dp→3Heη reaction have been measured in a high precision statistics COSY-ANKE experiment near threshold using continuous beam energy ramp up to an excess Q of 11.3 MeV with essentially 100% acceptance. kinematics allowed mean value be determined about 9 keV. Evidence is found effects higher partial waves Q≳4 MeV. very rapid rise section its maximum within 0.5 implies large η3He scattering length hence presence quasibound state extremely close...
The pp→pK+Y0 reaction has been studied for hyperon masses m(Y0)⩽1540MeV/c2 at COSY-Jülich by using a 3.65 GeV/c circulating proton beam incident on an internal hydrogen target. Final states comprising two protons, one positively charged kaon and negatively pion have identified with the ANKE spectrometer. Such configurations are sensitive to production of ground state Λ Σ0 hyperons as well Σ0(1385) Λ(1405) resonances. Applying invariant- missing-mass techniques, overlapping excited could be...
Exclusive measurements of the quasifree $pn\ensuremath{\rightarrow}pp{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ reaction have been performed by means $pd$ collisions at ${T}_{p}$ $=$ 1.2 GeV using wide angle shower apparatus (WASA) detector setup cooler synchrotron COSY (Institut f\"ur Kernphysik, J\"ulich). Total and differential cross sections obtained covering energy region $\sqrt{s}$ (2.35--2.46) GeV, which includes ABC effect its associated resonance structure. No...
New data on quasifree polarized neutron-proton scattering in the region of recently observed ${d}^{*}$ resonance structure are obtained by exclusive and kinematically complete high-statistics measurements with WASA at COSY. This paper details determination beam polarization, checks character process, all ${A}_{y}$ angular distributions new partial-wave analysis, which includes producing a pole ${}^{3}{D}_{3}\ensuremath{-}{}^{3}{G}_{3}$ coupled partial waves...
Exclusive measurements of the quasi-free $np \to np\pi^0\pi^0$ reaction have been performed by means $dp$ collisions at $T_d$ = 2.27 GeV using WASA detector setup COSY. Total and differential cross sections obtained covering energy region $\sqrt s$ (2.35 - 2.46) GeV, which includes ABC effect its associated $d^*(2380)$ resonance. Adding $d^*$ resonance amplitude to that for conventional processes leads a reasonable description data. The observed in total section is agreement with predictions...
The Horizon 2020 Project EuPRAXIA ("European Plasma Research Accelerator with eXcellence In Applications") is preparing a conceptual design report of highly compact and cost-effective European facility multi-GeV electron beams using plasma as the acceleration medium. accelerator will be based on laser and/or beam driven approach used for photon science, high-energy physics (HEP) detector tests, other applications such X-ray sources medical imaging or material processing. started in November...
The production of phi mesons in the collisions 2.83 GeV protons with C, Cu, Ag, and Au at forward angles has been measured via -> K+K- decay using COSY-ANKE magnetic spectrometer. meson cross section follows a target mass dependence A^0.56+/-0.02 momentum region 0.6-1.6 GeV/c. comparison data model calculations suggests that in-medium width is about an order magnitude larger than its free value.
An exclusive measurement of the excitation function for dd->3Heppi- reaction was performed at Cooler Synchrotron COSY-Juelich with WASA-at-COSY detection system. Abstract We propose a new approach based on an all-optical set-up for generating relativistic polarized electron beams via vortex Laguerre-Gaussian (LG) laser-driven wakefield acceleration. Using pre-polarized gas target, we find that the topology of resolves depolarization issue injected electrons. The acceleration of polarized electrons and protons in strong laser plasma fields is a very attractive option to obtain beams the GeV range. We investigate feasibility particle without destroying an initial polarization, taking into account all relevant mechanisms that could cause polarization losses, i.e. spin precession described by T-BMT equation, Sokolov-Ternov effect Stern-Gerlach force. Scaling laws for (de-)polarization time caused these effects reveal dominant limiting rotation...

Total cross sections have determined three excess energies epsilon near production threshold. differential section closest to threshold epsilon=18.5 MeV exhibits a clear S-wave dominance as well noticeable effect due proton-proton final state interaction. Taken together with data for pp omega-production, significant enhancement of phi/omega ratio factor 8 is found compared...
The differential and total cross sections for kaon pair production in the pp->ppK+K- reaction have been measured at three beam energies of 2.65, 2.70, 2.83 GeV using ANKE magnetic spectrometer COSY-Juelich accelerator. These near-threshold data are separated into pairs arising from decay phi-meson remainder. For non-phi selection, ratio terms K-p K+p invariant masses is strongly peaked towards low masses. This effect can be described quantitatively by a simple ansatz final state...
