T cells are involved in the early identification and clearance of viral infections also support development antibodies by B cells. This central role for makes them a desirable target assessing immune response to SARS-CoV-2 infection. Here, we combined two high-throughput profiling methods create quantitative picture T-cell SARS-CoV-2. First, at individual level, deeply characterized 3 acutely infected 58 recovered COVID-19 subjects experimentally mapping their CD8 through antigen stimulation...

We report a case of Usutu virus (USUV)-related illness in patient that underwent an orthotropic liver transplant (OLT). Post transplant, the developed clinical signs possible neuroinvasive disease with significant loss cerebral functions. USUV was isolated Vero E6 cells from plasma sample obtained immediately before surgery, and RNA demonstrated by RT-PCR sequencing. This enlarges panel emerging mosquito-borne flavivirus-related humans.

Usutu virus (USUV) is a mosquito-borne flavivirus that emerged 2001 in Austria and caused deaths wild birds. In Germany, 70,378 female mosquitoes were captured 2009 2010 assayed for USUV. Virus was isolated cell culture from one pool of Culex pipiens trapped exclusively August Weinheim, Germany. Subsequent phylogenetic analysis demonstrated close relationship between the USUV strain Germany Austria, which detected dead blackbird 2004.

The Chikungunya virus infection zones have now quickly spread from Africa to parts of Asia, North America and Europe. Originally thought trigger a disease only mild symptoms, recently caused large-scale fatalities widespread economic loss that was linked recent genetic mutation evolution. Due the paucity information on immunological progression, we investigated serum levels 13 cytokines/chemokines during acute phase 6- 12-month post-infection follow-up patients Italian outbreak. Usutu virus (USUV) is an African mosquito-borne flavivirus, member of the Japanese encephalitis antigenic group. This avian transmitted by arthropod vectors (mainly mosquitoes Culex pipiens complex). It well known that free-living birds, including migratory species, have potential to disperse certain pathogenic microorganisms. has recently been introduced Europe and spreading through Austria, Hungary, Italy, Spain Switzerland, causing disease in birds humans. Like West Nile virus, USUV may...

Background Dengue fever results from infection with one or more of four different serotypes dengue virus (DENV). Despite the widespread nature this infection, available molecular diagnostics have significant limitations. The aim study was to develop a multiplex, real-time, reverse transcriptase-PCR (rRT-PCR) for detection, quantitation, and serotyping viruses in single reaction. Methodology/Principal Findings An rRT-PCR assay targeting 5′ untranslated region capsid gene DENV genome designed...

Originating from Africa, Usutu virus (USUV) first emerged in Europe 2001. This mosquito-borne flavivirus caused high mortality rates its bird reservoirs, which strongly resembled the introduction of West Nile (WNV) 1999 United States. Mosquitoes infected with USUV incidentally transmit to other vertebrates, including humans, can result neuroinvasive disease. and WNV co-circulate parts southern Europe, but distribution extends into central northwestern Europe. Background In 2008, after the first West Nile virus (WNV) detection in Emilia-Romagna region, a surveillance system, including mosquito- and bird-based surveillance, was established to evaluate presence. Surveillance improved following years by extending monitoring larger areas increasing numbers of mosquitoes birds tested. Methodology/Principal Findings A network mosquito traps, evenly distributed regularly activated, set up within surveyed area. total 438,558 mosquitoes, grouped 3,111...

Abstract One of the major concerns in COVID‐19 pandemic is related to possible transmission poorly ventilated spaces SARS‐CoV‐2 through aerosol microdroplets, which can remain air for long periods time and be transmitted others over distances >1 m. Cold atmospheric pressure plasmas represent a promising solution, thanks their ability producing blend many reactive species, inactivate airborne aerosolized microorganisms.
