Extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP) is considered a valid second-line treatment for acute and chronic graft versus host disease (GVHD).Ninety-four patients with GVHD (aGVHD) (n = 45) (cGVHD) 49), retrospectively recruited in 6 Italian centers, were submitted to ECP treatment. At the time of ECP, 22 (49%) 23 (51%) 45 aGHVD nonresponsive partial remission (PR) after steroids, respectively, all 49 cGVHD steroid refractory.Forty-one (91%) aGVHD achieved complete (CR) ECP. Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) is burdened by life-threatening complications, with graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) being the major cause of morbility and mortality. To evaluate if WT1 expression may predict relapse after allo-SCT, we analyzed levels on peripheral blood (PB) and bone marrow (BM) before allo-SCT in 24 AML patients with overexpression at diagnosis. Five copies of WT1/ABL × 10 4 from PB were identified as the threshold value that correlated allo-SCT. The same correlation was not when assessed (BM). Eight out 11 (73%) a pre-allo-SCT PB-WT1 ≥ 5 4/13 (31%) < relapsed, respectively ( P = 0.04). incidence higher measured 3rd (56% versus 38%;...

Real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) is the gold standard to quantify BCR-ABL1 transcript for molecular response monitoring in chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) patients, and it plays a pivotal role clinical decision-making process, even if presents technical limits. Recovery from depends on a balanced integration between innate adaptive immune responses.
