To demonstrate whether abnormal glucose metabolism (diabetes and prediabetes) is associated with increased risk for cancer in the Chinese population to identify factors that modify of among individuals metabolism.Between 2011 2012, 259 657 community-dwelling adults, aged 40 years older, were recruited from 25 centers across mainland China participant baseline survey REACTION study, follow-up investigations performed 3, 5, 10 later. Detailed questionnaires about lifestyles, physical...
OBJECTIVE Uncertainty remains regarding the predictive value of various glycemic measures as they relate to risk diabetes and its complications. Using cutoffs recommended by American Diabetes Association’s 2010 criteria, we determined associations fasting plasma glucose (FPG), 2-h postload (2h-PG), HbA1c with outcomes. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS Baseline medical history, FPG, 2h-PG, were obtained from a population-based cohort 193,846 adults aged ≥40 years in China during 2011–2012. A...
OBJECTIVE Comprehensive assessment of serum lipidomic aberrations before type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) onset has remained lacking in Han Chinese. We evaluated changes lipid coregulation antecedent to T2DM and identified novel predictors for individuals with normal glucose regulation (NGR). RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS In the discovery study, we tested 667 baseline lipids subjects incident propensity score–matched control (n = 200) from a prospective cohort comprising 3,821 Chinese adults...
Although previous studies suggest that amino acids (AAs) and microbiota-related metabolites (MRMs) are associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), the results remain unclear among normoglycemic populations. We test 28 serum AAs 22 MRMs in 3,414 subjects incident matched controls from China Cardiometabolic Disease Cancer Cohort (4C) Study. In fully adjusted logistic regression models, per SD increment of branched-chain AAs, aromatic asparagine, alanine, glutamic acid, homoserine,...
Female cancer patients who seek fertility preservation but cannot undergo ovarian stimulation and embryo may consider 1) retrieval of immature oocytes followed by in vitro maturation (IVM) or 2) tissue cryopreservation transplantation follicle culture. Conventional IVM is carried out during the follicular phase menstrual cycle. There limited evidence demonstrating that oocyte retrieved luteal can mature be fertilized to produce viable embryos. While culture successful rodents, its...
OBJECTIVE Comprehensive assessment of serum bile acids (BAs) aberrations before diabetes onset remains inconclusive. We examined the association BA profile and coregulation with risk developing type 2 mellitus (T2DM) among normoglycemic Chinese adults. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS tested 23 species in subjects incident (n = 1,707) control matched by propensity score (including age, sex, BMI, fasting glucose) from China Cardiometabolic Disease Cancer Cohort (4C) Study, which was composed...
We aim to investigate the impact of ideal cardiovascular health metrics (ICVHMs) on association between famine exposure and adulthood diabetes risk. This study included 77,925 participants from China Cardiometabolic Disease Cancer Cohort (4C) Study who were born around time Chinese Great Famine free at baseline. They divided into three groups according birth year, including nonexposed (1963-1974), fetal exposed (1959-1962), childhood (1949-1958). Relative risk regression was used examine...
OBJECTIVE We aimed to determine the individual and combined associations of lifestyle metabolic factors with new-onset diabetes major cardiovascular events among a Chinese population aged ≥40 years. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS Baseline information, waist circumference, blood pressure, lipid profiles, glycemic status were obtained in nationwide, multicenter, prospective study 170,240 participants. During up 5 years follow-up, we detected 7,847 individuals according American Diabetes...
To date, the relationship between Growth Differentiation Factor 15 (GDF-15) gene polymorphism and risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) has not been clarified. Our study aims to explore association serum GDF-15 levels related with T2DM in a Chinese rural Yao population.
Whether serum magnesium deficiency is independently associated with the prevalence of microalbuminuria still unclear. The objective present study was to elucidate association between and in diabetic patients. A cross-sectional conducted 1829 subjects (aged ≥ 40 years) from Shanghai, China. Subjects were divided into three groups according tertiles. first-voided early-morning spot urine sample obtained for urinary albumin-creatinine ratio (UACR) measurement. Microalbuminuria defined as...
We describe here a Cu-catalyzed and 4-OH-TEMPO-mediated sequential dehydrogenation/aza-Michael addition/annulation cascade reaction for the construction of N-alkyl 2-arylindoles from facilely available saturated ketones 2-arylethynylanilines. This shows high regioselectivity tolerates variety functional groups. Moreover, 3-alkyl-substituted indoles can also be achieved when using 2-alkylethynylanilines as starting materials.
Abstract Background Prediabetes is an important risk factor of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and associated with subclinical atherosclerosis. However, the evidence prediabetes as a mainly derived from middle-aged adults. Recently, multiple studies supported that in older adults would not lead to higher CVD or mortality. We aimed investigate age-specific difference association between atherosclerosis Chinese prospective cohort study. Methods included 4739 individuals aged ≥ 40 years without...
Abstract Aims To investigate changes in insulin action and secretion obese subjects with different categories of impaired glucose regulation (IGR): tolerance (IGT), fasting (IFG), combined IFG/IGT (CGI). Methods A total 222 underwent an oral test a frequently sampled intravenous (FSIGTT); 100 had normal (subdivided into 32 lean NGT, 68 NGT), 122 were IGR (82 IGT, 14 IFG 26 CGI). The sensitivity index (S I ) was assessed by Bergman's minimal model method FSIGTT; determined acute response to...
Abstract Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the associations diabesity with incident cardiovascular disease (CVD) and subclinical atherosclerosis. Methods prospective cohort included 8,006 participants without baseline CVD. Diabesity categorized as (i) normal glucose tolerance (NGT) nonobesity; (ii) NGT obesity; (iii) prediabetes (iv) (v) diabetes (vi) obesity. hazard ratios (HRs) for CVD odds (ORs) atherosclerosis associated categories were examined. Results Compared...

BACKGROUND Coronary heart disease is associated with coronary atherosclerosis indicated by carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) thickening and altered vascular elasticity. The epicardial adipose layer can secrete proinflammatory factors that promote the formation of atherosclerosis. Thus, fat (EAT) may also predict disease. AIM To determine role common artery ultrasound parameters EAT in early diagnosis METHODS Based on angiography, patients newly suspected were divided into case (n = 107)...
Myokines play vital roles in both stable coronary artery disease (SCAD) and depression. Meanwhile, there is a pressing necessity to find effective biomarkers for early predictor of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) SCAD patients with depressive symptoms. A single-center, 5-year follow-up study was investigated. MACE defined as composite end points, including death, non-fatal stroke, myocardial infarction, revascularization, or hospitalization unstable angina. total 116 were...
