Abstract Machine learning approaches using structural magnetic resonance imaging (sMRI) can be informative for disease classification, although their ability to predict psychosis is largely unknown. We created a model with individuals at CHR who developed later (CHR-PS+) from healthy controls (HCs) that differentiate each other. also evaluated whether we could distinguish CHR-PS+ those did not develop (CHR-PS-) and uncertain follow-up status (CHR-UNK). T1-weighted brain MRI scans 1165...

Abstract Background Schizophrenia is associated with an increased risk of aggressive behaviour, which may partly be explained by illness-related changes in brain structure. However, previous studies have been limited group-level analyses, small and selective samples inpatients long time lags between exposure outcome. Methods This cross-sectional study pooled data from 20 sites participating the international ENIGMA-Schizophrenia Working Group. Sites acquired T1-weighted diffusion-weighted...

Importance In vivo imaging studies of reactive astrocytes are crucial for understanding the pathophysiology schizophrenia because play a critical role in glutamate imbalance and neuroinflammation. Objective To investigate patients with associated positive symptoms using monoamine oxidase B (MAO-B)–binding fluorine 18 ([ F])–labeled THK5351 positron emission tomography (PET). Design, Setting, Participants this case-control study, data were collected from October 1, 2021, to January 31, 2023,...

To characterize the epidemiology of primary laryngeal lymphoma and to determine prognostic factors affecting survival in patients with this disease.A retrospective cohort study using Surveillance, Epidemiology, End Results (SEER) database, including cases from 1973 2014.A population-based analysis was conducted more than 15 different geographic regions across United States. Patients were chosen based on a diagnosis site within larynx. Two hundred eligible inclusion criteria, characteristic...

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a heterogeneous condition characterized by distinct symptom subtypes, each with varying pathophysiologies and treatment responses. Recent research has highlighted the role of amygdala, brain region that central to emotion processing, in these variations. However, amygdala subregions functions not yet been fully elucidated. In this study, we aimed clarify biological mechanisms underlying OCD subtype heterogeneity investigating functional connectivity...

Changes in dopamine and fronto-striato-thalamic (FST) circuit functional connectivity are prominent schizophrenia. Dopamine is thought to underlie changes, but experimental evidence for this hypothesis lacking. Previous studies examined the association some of connections using positron emission tomography (PET) MRI (fMRI); however, PET has disadvantages scanning patients, such as invasiveness. Excessive induces neuromelanin (NM) accumulation, NM-MRI suggested a noninvasive proxy measure...

The lack of robust neuroanatomical markers psychosis risk has been traditionally attributed to heterogeneity. A complementary hypothesis is that variation in measures the majority individuals at may be nested within range observed healthy individuals.

Improving diagnostic accuracy of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) using models brain imaging data is a key goal the field, but this objective challenging due to limited size and phenotypic depth clinical datasets. Leveraging diversity in large non-clinical datasets such as UK Biobank (UKBB), offers potential solution problem. Nevertheless, it remains unclear whether classification trained on populations will generalise individuals with OCD. This question also relevant for...

They all showed clinical behavior, despite histopathological findings.
