Ischemic stroke and transient ischemic attack (TIA) standard-of-care etiological investigations include an ECG prolonged cardiac monitoring (PCM). Atrial fibrillation (AF) detected after has been generally considered a single entity, regardless of how it is diagnosed. We hypothesized that ECG-detected AF associated with higher risk recurrence than on 14-day Holter (PCM-detected AF).We conducted retrospective, registry-based, cohort study consecutive patients TIA included in the London...

Despite the numerous studies evaluating occlusion rates of aneurysms following WEB embolization, there are limited identifying predictors occlusion. Our purpose was to identify aneurysm and need for retreatment.

The fetal-type posterior cerebral artery (PCA) is defined as a variant anatomy in which the communicating (PCOM) larger than hypoplastic or aplastic P1 segment of PCA. authors present novel case patient with duplicated right PCA parallel and conventional PCAs supplying adjacent components territory.

Atrial fibrillation (AF) burden progresses with time. Among ischemic stroke (IS) patients, AF can be detected at different progression stages based on the timing and screening method. We hypothesized that after IS 12-lead ECGs (ECG-AF) via 14-day-Holter prolonged cardiac monitoring (AFDAS) are linked to lower recurrence risk than known before occurrence (KAF) because of being an earlier stage KAF. Additionally, we posited differences between types vary over time due their differential stages.

Background Endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) is the standard of care for patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) and intracranial vessel occlusion. Tandem occlusions (TO) comprise 20% all anterior circulation AIS are related to a poorer prognosis. The optimal EVT treatment strategy remains controversial. Our main objective was determine if simultaneous endovascular extracranial in TO results faster recanalization times, similar efficacy safety, compared sequential approach. Methods Single...

OBJECTIVE The Woven EndoBridge (WEB) device is an intrasaccular flow disruptor designed for wide-necked bifurcation aneurysms. These aneurysms may require the use of a concomitant stent. objective this study was to determine clinical and radiological outcomes patients undergoing stent-assisted WEB treatment. In addition, authors also sought predictors stent in treated with device. METHODS data were taken from WorldWideWEB Consortium, international multicenter cohort including Aneurysms...

Abstract Background Limited research exists regarding the impact of neuroimaging modality on endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) decisions for late window large vessel occlusion (LVO) stroke cases. Purpose This study assesses whether perfusion CT imaging: 1) alters proportion recommendations EVT, and 2) enhances reliability EVT decision-making compared to non-contrast angiography. Materials Methods We conducted an online survey using 30 patients drawn from institutional database 3144 acute...
