We report a high yielding synthesis of truly monodisperse, thiolate-protected silver clusters via rationally designed approach. The cluster composition was determined by electrospray ionization (ESI) mass spectrometry to be Ag(7)(DMSA)(4), where DMSA represents meso-2,3-dimercaptosuccinic acid. Ag(7) thiolate exhibit distinct optical properties. approach developed in this work provides some insight into the growth kinetics and may extendable other sized nanoclusters.

Probiotics actively participate in neuropsychiatric disorders. However, the role of gut microbiota brain disorders and vascular dementia (VaD) remains unclear. We used a mouse model VaD induced by permanent right unilateral common carotid arteries occlusion (rUCCAO) to investigate neuroprotective effects possible underlying mechanisms Clostridium butyricum. Following rUCCAO, C. butyricum was intragastrically administered for 6 successive weeks. Cognitive function estimated. Morphological...

The simplistically and ambiguously termed 'fibrostenosis' of bowel is a hallmark severe Crohn's disease [CD] major contributor to medical treatment failure. Non-invasive imaging assessment novel therapy targeting this condition are under investigation, which particularly requires better understanding the underlying histological basis. We analysed 48 patients with stricturing ileitis or/and colitis that required surgical resection. most representative sections fibrostenotic, non-stenotic...

Type 2 diabetes has a quite high incidence all over the world. For prevention and treatment of diabetes, early detection is demanded. Nowadays, data mining techniques are gaining increasing importance in medical diagnosis field by their classification capability. In this paper, hybrid prediction model proposed to help diabetes. model, K-means used for reduction with J48 decision tree as classifier classification. order get experimental result, we Pima Indians Diabetes Dataset from UCI...

Electrocatalytic dehalogenation (EDH) is a promising green technology for the breakage of strong carbon-chlorine (C-Cl) bonds that have fundamental importance in organic chemistry and environmental remediation. The lack understanding practical issues such as potential secondary pollution, side reactions (e.g., hydrogen-evolution reaction), deficiency catalytic activity, and/or stability limited adoption EDH technology. Here, we address these problems by designing palladium-based nanocatalyst...

Abstract Background Anti-angiogenic therapy has been shown to be a promising strategy for anti-tumor treatment. Increasing evidence indicates that tumor angiogenesis is affected by exosomes are secreted mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), but whether derived from MSCs suppress or promote remain paradoxical. The purpose of this study focused on understanding the potential role human deciduous exfoliated teeth (SHED-Exos) in regulating and underlying molecular mechanism. Methods Exosomes were...

Abstract The electroreductive cleavage of carbon‐chloro bonds has attracted increasing attention from both environmental and mechanistic points view over the past decades, taking into consideration a large variety chlorinated organic compounds. Important discoveries have been made on underlying electron/hydrogen transfer mechanisms enhancement dechlorination performance for electrocatalysis purposes last years. However, there is still missing combined knowledge individual researches to...

Abstract Understanding the nature of hydrophobicity has fundamental importance in environmental applications. Using spherical silica nanoparticles (diameter = 369 ± 7 nm) as model material, current study investigates relationship between alkyl chain network and hydro-phobicity. Two silanes with different length (triethoxymethylsilane (C1) vs. trimethoxy(octyl)silane (C8)) were utilised separately for functionalisation nanoparticles. Water contact angle inverse gas chromatography results show...
