Abstract We explored the role of micro RNA ‐30a (miR‐30a) and mechanism involved in hepatic fibrosis. MiR‐30a overexpression was achieved by miR‐30a mimics transfection stellate cells ( HSC s) ‐T6, LX ‐2), agomir (ago‐miR‐30a) treatment mice. levels were measured using TaqMan mi assay system, localization detected fluorescence situ hybridization FISH ). The interaction Beclin1 confirmed dual‐luciferase reporter assay. Autophagic flux analysed tandem mRFP ‐ GFP LC 3 microscopy, electron...
Both low-carbohydrate (LC) and calorie-restricted (CR) diets have been shown to metabolic benefits. However, the two regimens yet be thoroughly compared. We conducted a 12-week randomized trial compare effects of these separately in combination on both weight loss risk factors overweight/obese individuals.
Abstract Context Thyroid function variation within the thyroxine reference range has negative metabolic effects. Metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) is a recently proposed definition. Objective We aim to explore effects of thyroid status on prevalence and mortality MAFLD. Methods Data 10 666 participants from Third National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES III) were used. MAFLD was diagnosed based new defined thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) levels:...
Few of the available therapies for type 2 diabetes (T2D) comprehensively address disease burden beyond glycemic control. Examining whether berberine ursodeoxycholate (HTD1801), a first-in-class gut-liver anti-inflammatory metabolic modulator, has potential to treat core aspects is important. To assess safety and efficacy HTD1801 in patients with T2D that inadequately controlled diet exercise. This phase double-blind, placebo-controlled, 12-week randomized clinical trial, conducted China...
Background/Aims: Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) is a leading cause of end-stage renal disease. However, no effective treatments for this are available. Calcium dobesilate (CaD) widely used to treat diabetic retinopathy. DKD and retinopathy often co-exist have similar mechanisms pathogenesis. The aim the present study was elucidate safety efficacy CaD in treatment DKD. Methods: In prospective randomised controlled study, 100 from Type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) patients with urinary albumin/...

Previous studies have reported that alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) isoenzymes possess diagnostic value in gastric cancer (GC). However, the prognostic of ADH GC remains unclear. The aim present study was to identify genes patients with GC. investigated using Kaplan‑Meier plotter tool. plots were used assess difference between groups different prognoses. Hazard ratios (HR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) relative risk survival. Overall, 593 7 included survival analysis. High expression 1A...
Abstract Background Fatty liver index (FLI) is the most recognized blood biomarker for diagnosis of hepatic steatosis (HS), but lacks reliable specific cut-off points (COPs). Therefore, we aim to investigate population-specific COPs FLI based on results ultrasound transient elastography (LUTE) and conventional ultrasonography in National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). Methods 5948 participants who underwent LUTE from NHANES 2017–2018 14,797 Third (NHANES III) were recruited....
Objective To investigate the application value of 3T MRI qDixon-WIP technique in quantitative measurement pancreatic fat content patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Methods The sequence was used to scan livers and pancreas 47 T2DM (experimental group) 48 healthy volunteers (control group). Pancreatic fraction (PFF), hepatic (HFF), Body mass index (BMI) ratio volume body surface area (PVI) were measured. Total cholesterol (TC), subcutaneous (SA), triglyceride (TG), abdominal...
Objective. Free triiodothyronine (FT3) is an independent risk factor for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in patients with euthyroid. However, whether FT3 has effect on NAFLD a population of type 2 diabetes remains unknown. The purpose this study was to identify the potential role T2DM. Design. A cross-sectional study. Patient. total 859 T2DM who met inclusion criteria were included. There 506 without and 353 NAFLD. Methods. samples <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"...

Intrapartum defined as highest axillary temperature during ≥37.5°C. Data baseline characteristics, variables, neonatal were all collected. The association analyzed...
Background: Short-term intensive insulin therapy (SIIT) had immediate and significant effect on early type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) control, but the benefit diminished over time. This study aimed to evaluate whether sequential oral antihyperglycemic regimens- comparing combination or mono-therapy lifestyle- following SIIT could further improve long-term outcomes. Methods: In this 48-week, multi-centre, open-label, randomised trial across 15 Chinese centres, newly diagnosed T2DM patients...
<title>Abstract</title> Fibrotic diseases, like non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), pose challenges for targeted delivery and retention of therapeutic proteins due to increased extracellular matrix (ECM) deposition. Here we present a new approach treat fibrotic termed “Fibrosis overexpression (FORT)”. In this two-step strategy, design 1) retinoid derivative lipid nanoparticle (LNP) enable specific mRNA in hepatic stellate cells, 2) modifications which facilitate anchoring the ECM. LNPs...
