Abstract Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) is a malignant tumor originating from epidermal or appendageal keratinocytes, with rising incidence in recent years. Understanding the molecular mechanism driving its development crucial. This study aims to investigate whether miR-34a-5p involved pathogenesis of cSCC by targeting Sirtuin 6 (SIRT6).The expression levels and SIRT6 were determined 15 tissue specimens, normal specimens cultured cells via real-time polymerase chain reaction...
Most randomized trials for acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) have investigated highly selected patients under idealized conditions, and the findings need to be validated in real world. We conducted a population-based study of all APL Zhejiang Province, China, with total population 82 million people, assess generalization all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) arsenic as front-line treatment. The outcomes were also analyzed. Between January 2015 December 2019, 1,233 eligible included final analysis....
Abstract Cardiomyocyte (CM) loss is a characteristic of various heart diseases, including ischaemic disease. Cardiac regeneration has been suggested as promising strategy to address CM loss. Although many studies have focused mainly on mononucleated or diploid CM, the limitations associated with cytokinesis polyploid and multinucleated CMs remain less well known. Here, we show that β-catenin, key regulator in development, can increase CMs. The activation β-catenin increases expression...
Atrial fibrillation has caused severe burden for people worldwide. Differentiation of fibroblasts into myofibroblasts, and consequent progress in atrial structural remodeling have been considered the basis persistent fibrillation, yet little is known about molecular mechanisms underlying process. Here, we show that cyclin-dependent kinase 1 (CDK1) activated from patients with (AFPAF) platelet derived growth factor BB (PDGF-BB)-treated sinus rhythm (AFPSR). We also demonstrate inhibition CDK1...
Thermo-regulated fibers, which contain phase change materials with a melting temperature close to human body temperature, have attracted great scientific attention. Nanofibers poly(n-tetradecyl acrylate-co-n-hexadecyl acrylate) (poly(TDA-co-HDA)) as the core material and poly(acrylonitrile-co-vinylidene chloride) (P(AN-co-VDC) sheath were successfully fabricated by coaxial electrostatic spinning technology. The synthesized fibers possessed sheath/core structure of approximately 28 °C an...
Galactitol hexa palmitate (GHP) as a phase change material (PCM) was fabricated via an esterification reaction of galactitol with palmitoyl chloride. A series sheath/core composite submicrometer fibers were coaxially electro-spun using poly(acrylonitrile- co-vinylidene chloride) (P(AN- co-VDC)) sheath and the GHP core. The properties, thermal stability, surface morphology characterized field emission scanning electronic microscopy (FE-SEM), transmission (TEM), differential calorimetry (DSC)...
The aim of the present study was to investigate protective effect Kruppel‑like factor 15 (KLF15) overexpression on heart failure (HF) induced by left ventricular (LV) pressure overload in mice. Wild‑type (WT) mice and cardiac‑specific KLF15‑overexpressed transgenic (TG) were selected as research subjects, an LV model constructed ascending aortic constriction surgery. Changes cardiac morphology function, ultrastructure molecular expression observed via M‑mode echocardiography, histological...
Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (CSCC) is one of the most common types skin cancer worldwide. Therefore, identification biomarkers associated with CSCC progression could aid in early detection high-risk and development novel therapeutic strategies.
Background: Surgery is a definitive treatment for patients with type A aortic dissection. The aim of this study was to identify and analyze the risk factors permanent neurological dysfunction (PND) 30-day mortality in following total arch replacement stented elephant trunk implantation descending aorta. Methods: clinical data 85 consecutive who underwent surgical procedure between December 2013 May 2017 were reviewed. Multivariate logistic regression analysis performed determine independent...
This study aimed to investigate the causal effect of dietary habits on COVID-19 susceptibility, hospitalisation and severity. We used data from a large-scale diet dataset Host Genetics Initiative estimate relationships using Mendelian randomisation. The inverse variance weighted (IVW) method was as main analysis. For IVW estimates indicated that milk (OR: 0·82; 95 % CI (0·68, 0·98);
We aimed to screen, via bioinformatics analyses, potential gene markers related BC metastasis and prognosis. A expression dataset (GSE102818) relevant clinical information were downloaded from the GEO database TCGA, respectively. Then, differentially expressed genes (DEGs) identified between primary metastatic samples, followed by survival analyses. Subsequently, functional enrichment protein–protein interaction (PPI) analyses performed. Finally, transcriptional regulation analysis was...
Abstract The spotted longbarbel catfish ( Mystus guttatus ) is a member of the family Bagridae and mainly distributed in Pearl River Valley Nandujiang Hainan Island. It one four most famous fishes history Valley. Nowadays, M. has become potential target for aquaculture China due to its high nutritional value, but genetic background still unknown. This study was carried out estimate population diversity River. random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) technique performed on 30 samples, using 20...
Essential thrombocythaemia (ET) and Waldenström macroglobulinaemia (WM) are two distinct disorders. Studies have reported several cases of myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) with concomitant plasma cell dyscrasia. However, there were no ET WM to date. Here, we present a 55-year-old Chinese man thrombocytosis raised immunoglobulin level. Further investigations led diagnosis coexistent WM. Next-generation sequencing (NGS) his bone marrow identified 3 mutated genes: JAK2 V617F, MYD88 L265P,...

Abstract Studies that estimate complex disease heritability based on genome-wide common SNP array data have shown a large fraction of is contributed from variants do not reach significance at current association study (GWAS) sample sizes. The contribution rare to has yet be explored for many diseases. Despite the decreasing cost sequencing, it still remains prohibitively expensive sequence sufficient samples well-powered genetic studies variants. However, with increasingly and denser...
