Mechanical thrombectomy (MT) has revolutionized the treatment of acute ischemic stroke (AIS) due to large vessel occlusion (LVO), but its efficacy and safety in medium (MeVO) remain less explored. This multicenter, retrospective study aims investigate incidence clinical outcomes perforations (confirmed by extravasation during an angiographic series) MT for AIS caused MeVO.
Stroke remains a major health concern globally, with oral anticoagulants widely prescribed for stroke prevention. The efficacy and safety of mechanical thrombectomy (MT) in anticoagulated patients distal medium vessel occlusions (DMVO) are not well understood.
Introduction: First pass effect (FPE), achievement of complete recanalization (mTICI 2c/3) with a single pass, is significant predictor favorable outcomes for endovascular treatment (EVT) in large vessel occlusion stroke (LVO). However, data concerning the impact on functional and predictors FPE medium occlusions (MeVO) are scarce. Patients Methods: We conducted an international retrospective study MeVO cases. Multivariable logistic modeling was used to establish independent FPE. Clinical...
The superficial circumflex iliac perforator (SCIP) flap has many ideal features, such as fast dissection, possibility to harvest thin, pliable, wide skin island, and concealed donor site scar. In spite of these its use was limited because the anatomical variation pedicle, which is relatively shorter a smaller caliber than other more popular flaps. Several names were given branches perforators in literature, thus adding confusion understanding anatomy. We performed surgical radioanatomical...

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE:
Successful vessel recanalization in posterior circulation large-vessel occlusion is considered crucial, though the evidence of clinical usefulness, compared with anterior circulation, not still determined. The aim this study was to evaluate predictors favorable outcome and analyze effect first-pass thrombectomy.
MATERIALS METHODS:
A retrospective, multicenter, observational conducted 10 high-volume stroke centers Europe, including period from January...
Although thrombectomy is beneficial for most stroke patients with large vessel occlusion (LVO), it has added new issues in acute management due to intensive care support. In this prospective cohort study, we described the admitted our neuro-intensive unit (NICU) after order assess factors linked functional outcomes. The outcome was independency assessed consecutively NICU an ischemic LVO of anterior cerebral circulation that underwent intra-arterial mechanical (IAMT), either combination...
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness mechanical thrombectomy (MT) in patients with isolated M2 occlusion and minor symptoms identify possible baseline predictors clinical outcome. The databases 16 high-volume stroke centers were retrospectively screened for consecutive a National Institutes Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score ≤5 who received either early MT (eMT) or best medical management (BMM) possibility rescue (rMT) on neurological worsening. Because our not...
Background For acute proximal intracranial artery occlusions, contact aspiration may be more effective than stent‐retriever for first‐line reperfusion therapy. Due to the lack of data regarding medium vessel occlusion thrombectomy, we evaluated outcomes according technique in a large, multicenter registry. Methods Imaging, procedural, and clinical patients with occlusions (M2, A1, or P1) distal (M3, A2, P2, further) treated at 37 sites 10 countries were analyzed endovascular (stent‐retriever...
Objectives: Explore the effect of introduction a hybrid CT angio suite on in-hospital workflow time patients with acute ischemic stroke. Methods: This was retrospective observational case-control study. All consecutive admitted to our emergency department suspected stroke who underwent imaging and mechanical thrombectomy (MT) in new from October 2023 March 2024 were included The primary outcome evaluation times by assessment both hospital admission beginning endovascular treatment...
M2 segment occlusions represent approximately one-third of non-lacunar ischemic stroke and can lead to permanent neurological deficits. Various techniques are available for mechanical thrombectomy beyond the circle Willis, but data evaluating their effectiveness safety lacking.A retrospective review patients with undergoing from 13 centers in North American Europe was performed. Tandem or multiple-territory were excluded. The primary outcome 90-day modified Rankin Scale reperfusion rates...
Failure of sputum smear and/or culture conversion after 2 months tuberculosis (TB) treatment has been considered a predictor patient infectivity and failure. We aimed to identify the factors associated with delayed in patients pulmonary TB who were given anti-TB treatment. Retrospective cohort 136 adult culture-proven referred an urban Chest Disease Centre. Socio-demographic, clinical, radiological, microbiological, therapeutic data evaluated. The median age was 41.0 (interquartile range...
Patients with minor stroke and M2 occlusion undergoing best medical management (BMM) may face early neurological deterioration (END) that can lead to poor long-term outcome. In case of END, rescue mechanical thrombectomy (rMT) seems beneficial. Our study aimed define factors relevant clinical outcome in patients BMM the possibility rMT on find predictors END.Patients a baseline National Institutes Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score≤5 received either only or END after were extracted from...
Formulating reliable prognosis for ischemic stroke patients remains a challenging task. We aimed to develop an artificial intelligence model able formulate in the first 24 h after individualized terms of NIHSS.
Mechanical thrombectomy (MT) is currently the gold standard treatment for ischemic stroke due to large vessel occlusion (LVO). However, evidence of clinical usefulness MT in posterior circulation LVO (pc-LVO) still doubtful compared anterior circulation, especially patients with mild neurological symptoms. The database 10 high-volume centers Europe, including a period three year and half, was screened an acute basilar artery or single dominant vertebral ("functional" BAO) presenting NIHSS...
