A novel, high-capacity oil sorbent consisting of polyvinyl chloride (PVC)/polystyrene (PS) fiber was prepared by an electrospinning process. The sorption capacity, oil/water selectivity, and mechanism the PVC/PS were studied. results showed that capacities for motor oil, peanut diesel, ethylene glycol 146, 119, 38, 81 g/g, respectively. It about 5–9 times a commercial polypropylene (PP) sorbent. also had excellent selectivity (about 1000 times) high buoyancy in cleanup over water. SEM...

Theranostic nanoagents are promising for precision medicine. However, biodegradable with the ability photoacoustic (PA) imaging guided photothermal therapy (PTT) rare. We herein report development of semiconducting polymer nanoparticles (SPNs) enhanced PA and PTT efficacy cancer therapy. The design capitalizes on enzymatically oxidizable nature vinylene bonds in conjunction chemistry to synthesize a (DPPV) transform it into water-soluble (SPNV). As compared its counterpart SPN (SPNT),...

Abstract Advancements in reconstructive microsurgery have evolved into supermicrosurgery; connecting vessels with diameter between 0.3 and 0.8 mm for reconstruction of lymphatic flow vascularized tissue transplantation. Supermicrosurgery is limited by the precision dexterity surgeon’s hands. Robot assistance can help overcome these human limitations, thereby enabling a breakthrough supermicrosurgery. We report first-in-human study robot-assisted supermicrosurgery using dedicated...

Abstract Breast cancer related lymphedema (BCRL) is a chronic condition with detrimental impact on psychosocial and physical well-being. Lymphaticovenous anastomosis has shown promising results in alleviating symptoms increasing quality of life patients BCRL. The aim the study to evaluate effect health (HrQol) after LVA surgery versus conservative treatment prospective, multicenter randomized controlled trial. Adult women unilateral BCRL, early stage viable lymphatic vessels were included....

Robotic assistance in microsurgery could enhance human precision and dexterity to improve clinical outcomes. Because no robotic device has been designed primarily for microsurgery, the authors developed a dedicated microsurgical system. This preclinical study investigates whether anastomosis can be successfully completed on silicone vessels using prototype of this new system, compares outcomes robot-assisted versus conventional microsurgery.Three participants at different levels training 10...

Lymphaticovenous anastomosis, a supermicrosurgical technique, creates bypasses between the lymphatic and venous systems. The quality of lymphaticovenous anastomosis depends on surgeon's dexterity precision, is subject to imperfections caused by physiologic tremor human hand. A dedicated robot for microsurgery has been created overcome these limitations (MUSA, MicroSure, Eindhoven, Netherlands). This study describes 1-year clinical outcomes first-in-human trial robot-assisted manual in...

Abstract Rapid clearance of nanoagents is a critical criterion for their clinical translation. Herein, it reported that biodegradable and renal clearable nanoparticles are potentially useful image‐guided photothermal therapy tumors. Lymphedema is a chronic and disabling sequel of breast cancer treatment that can be treated by lymphatico-venous anastomosis (LVA). Artificial connections between the venous lymphatic system are performed supermicrosurgically. This prospective study analyses effect LVA on quality life. Abstract Purpose Breast cancer-related lymphedema (BCRL) is caused by an interruption of the lymphatic system after breast cancer treatment. Lymphaticovenous anastomosis (LVA), which one or more patent collecting vessels are connected to subcutaneous veins, shows promising results. Postoperatively, patency these can be evaluated; however, little known concerning long-term LVA in patients with BCRL. The aim this study was analyse patency, quality life (QoL) and arm circumference LVA, explore...

Introduction Up to one-fifth of breast cancer survivors will develop chronic cancer-related lymphoedema (BCRL). To date, complex physical decongestion therapy (CDT) is the gold standard treatment. However, it mainly symptomatic and often ineffective in preventing BCRL progression. Lymphovenous anastomosis (LVA) vascularised lymph node transfer (VLNT) are microsurgical techniques that aim restore lymphatic drainage. This international randomised trial aims evaluate advantages interventions...
